Blank switches

Hello,
I recently purchased a 2010 Mazda5 GT and I was inspecting the interior for possible mods that I can do down the road and came across 4 blank switches on the left side of the steering column. Does anyone know what is behind these switches and what they're intended use is? I know in Japan and Europe these cars have a lot more interior accessories like ambient lighting, could these blank switches be for these?

Hallo!

My Swiss Mazda 5 has the switches for the power doors (1 for each door) and the master switch to cut the power for the doors. In Europe the HID always come with automatic height adjust. Therefore the top models come with one blank switch. You could of course fit the airbag switch afterwards.

Greetings

I installed a momentary switch in one of the blanks to control a timer circuit to turn the dome lights on/off. I recall one of the blanks having a connector with wires hooked to it as a placeholder. IOW, the connector was inserted into the backside of the blank, but there were no pins in the blank that the wires were connected to.
