All this bike talk reminds me that I have to bring my bike in. I have a mountain track 830 from like 1998!!

Nothing wrong with a classic. I still ride my '96 VooDoo HooDoo. I don't ride nearly as much as I used to, but if anyone ever makes it out to the western suburbs (Batavia, Geneva, Aurora etc)... let me know. There's some pretty decent local singletrack. Oh... and there's beer at my house.

there is!!!! where? what park? all I knew about is that velodrome in St. Charles. There is Kettle Morane up by me and there is draft beer at my house. wink wink.

There are decent trails in Oswego along the Fox River at/near Saw Wee Kee park that a friend introduced me to a couple years ago. There is a little local secret in Geneva that has a couple miles of single track wound around itself. There's a small climb and descent, a couple creek crossings, switchbacks, etc. It's no kettle morraine, but for being a mile from my house... it's pretty slick! I am sorta out of shape now, but can certainly handle a moderate ride. But I can *really* handle my beer.

back to honda.. fit sport. more for a g/f to be able to drive around..

sooo...yeah...long time but...if you want a bike...craigslist and ebay is your best friend...also...pinkbike and ridemonkey...i built up 2 bikes last year...i ended up putting about $1500 in both but in my main one but in parts i have a $4000 bike...soo yep...

since this picture i've added some Saint Cranks and an E.Thirteen chainguide, and xtr derailleur for the rear for when i get my gears this comming season...single speed atm..

and i ride singletracks at skokie lagoons and the forest preserve by park ridge..

The trails are on the north east corner of Route 25 and Fabyan Pkwy in Geneva. There is a huge windmill on the west side of Route 25, just for reference. There is a tiny little trailhead that shoots off of the paved bike trails along the river and runs underneath route 25 and leads to the singletrack. Or you could park on the east side of Route 25 at the forest preserve and you'd find the trails.

Normally, I wouldn't want to give this away... but I don't imagine that posting this on Mazdas247 is going to lead to an influx of people there.

If anyone wants to meet up some time and hit these trails, let me know. We can meet at my house and ride over to them. These aren't anywhere near the likes of Kettle Morraine, but I think they're fun.
