Best bov solution

Anyone know what the best mounting solution is for a bov on the msp?
Not sure on where anyone usually mounts it.. I'll be running a greddy type rs with fmic and hard pipes with a t3/t4. Is it better to recirculate or relocate maf?

I prefer to relocate the MAF and run the BOV VTA, it's cleaner and less cluttered under the hood and it sounds cooler.

Where specifically did you place both bov and the maf? & how hard is it to find a maf relocation kit these days how much do they go for?

EDIT: Also does that eliminate compressor surge completely?

I relocated the MAF, and BOV is next to MAF behind air filter

Yeah VTA with just about any BOV will eliminate any back pressure on the compressor blades and kill the turkey.

That is a well thought out setup speedpx.

I am curious what your AFR's look like with the MAF post turbo. My concern is that with hotter compressed air, the stock MAF tables would be inaccurate, but that could be fixed with an SSAFC or other engine management.

And completely off topic, but I see you don't have your heatshield on. I ran just to work and back a couple weeks ago with it off and it made my hot pipe untouchable, and boiled the coolant in the return line. It apparently does its job pretty well.

You really need hard pipes to do it right. I don't think the plastic cold pipe is sturdy enough or the right diameter to support cutting out a chunk of it and moving the MAF. You would need at least two reducers and a fairly long coupler to put in place of the maf in its stock location. You need the maf to see as little turbulence as possible, so you would cut out the straightest portion of the cold pipe.

There is a decent write up on here somewhere, but I did a quick search and couldn't find it. Maybe someone who remembers better or has it bookmarked can post the link.

I am going to a MAP based tune with a megasquirt, and venting to atmosphere with an HKS along with the stock BPV recirculated unless the noise is too obnoxious in which case, I will buy some sort of Y adapter to recirculate both. However, I don't think the diameter of the return on my injen intake is large enough to completely eliminate back pressure on the compressor if I recirc both, so I may have to have a larger return welded into it, or just live with either the turkey or some BOV noise. I've asked around for opinions, but I really won't know until I try.
