Auto Dimming Mirror Temperature

I've notice that the temperature on the mirror can be somewhat outrageous. During the winter it would be freezing outside, but the temperature would hover around 50 degrees. I thought it could be due to the heater being on, but isnt the temperature suppose to read outside temps?

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problems, and should I take it back to the dealer?

the sensor is in the front fender well.

The resistor it uses should be far enough away from the
heater to not matter. Unless of course it was a dealer
installed option then the tech could of messed up the
routing or put it in the wrong place.

I installed one myself and it works fine for me. I'd take it in
and have them recheck it. The sensor could of come off
and be making contact against something?

oh, you must have gotten the 'fantasy-world' version of the auto-dimming mirror.
