Are the 2.3 Engine from 2006 - 2010 interchangeable?

yes. and, actually, the newer 2.5 block would swap in, too. even the 2.0 would fit up without much trouble.

This is an interesting point, the 2.5 is has more power and torque than the 2.3. I wonder if there are any differences in electronics that would make this swap a pain?

Is there confirmation anywhere that the drivetrains have been physically swapped? Same mount points and transmission interface?

You could probably keep the 2.3's sensors and ECU and use them on the 2.5, then tweak any fuel map changes with a piggyback... assuming you don't have to screw with a control unit for the auto transmission. I don't know if the auto is controlled from the main ECU or another module.

Good points. That wouldn't even be worth it if you had to run some alternate engine management. If all the extras like the intake manifold, throttle body, etc. can be swapped, the additional management might not be necessary. It would be worth the research for anybody needing to replace and engine.

You would want to spray a bit more fuel for the same intake conditions (I'm assuming we are NOT MAF, don't really know for sure) since the displacement is higher- don't want to lean out.

the 2.5 would run just fine with the 2.3 ECU. if you go through with the swap, just get a short block and use all the 2.3 accessories and head, etc.
