I found some really cool wheels that will look pretty awesome on the 5, anyone have 17x9 on? I tried a set of Mitos but the offset was to low and they poked a bit. Thanks in advance.
Anyone with 9" wheels?

I'd worry about hitting the strut body since it's pretty close to the wheel- the offsets you would need to clear the suspension might not play very friendly with your fenders.

Well I can roll and pull them, I think I will get them and if need be I will re-barrel them.

That's a lot of work, but I'd love to see it. 
OZ Mitos are pretty sweet. Had a set that I recently sold. Before you buy these you need to figure what the offset is. Judging from my wheels on the wife's car you would want an offset no more than 45 and you would need to stretch a 205 or 215 on that rim. Looking at your screen name both Mito's and stretching are big in the VW scene but I do not think it will look good on this particular vehcle. At the end of the day you will be spending some serious cash and may never end up with what you wanted. Just get a set of wheels that fit. Lots of nice wheels out there. I'm thinking a 19" concave basket weave would look sick.

Thanks, I have a couple sets now. Once they are fit I will test them. The Mitos spokes were to thin on the slab sides; they were 17x7 et41. Oh, and it needs lowered to make nice aftermarket wheels look right.
