anyone tried the Racing Beat Cat-back Exhaust yet?

Just wondering, has anyone bought the Racing Beat Cat-back Exhaust for the Protege5 yet? I tried to buy the system but i was told that they sold out of there initial shipment. Well, let me know how it sounds, perform, etc? Thanks

We have the RB on Rishie's P5. It is a clean looking three-piece system that includes a resonator. This exhaust is very quiet...you will hear your intake over it. The fit is excellent and the tip is nice and clean looking.

I'd love to see some high res pics of this system installed on a P5. Also, anymore opinions, comments on this exhaust system?

I've got the MazdaSpeed axleback now. Not really what I was looking for (loud when warmed up!!) Although, it does look fantastic.

Hey Mackdaddy,

I got my system about a month ago, but had it on order with Racing Beat since sometime in May, just missed out on their first run.

All I can say is, it was worth the wait. Fits perfectly, sounds just right and best of all Looks Great!!

GReddy917 is right, I have the Injen CAI and you hear it over the exhaust or damn near close to it. It was just the sound I was looking for, but it may not be loud enough for everyone.

Here are a couple of pics

almost forgot, hp gains, now this is just the butt dyno talking now, but I felt more of a gain with the CAI than with the cat back. But maybe I was just hoping for a little more or it was just that I did the CAI first. I guess I really don't know.

Hey Mackdaddy, if you could swing a couple of OSU vs Michigan tickets my way I'd love to come down and let you test drive the car. Or we could maybe just meet up around Mansfield about 1/2 way someday.

Not really interested in spending $500 for an exhaust on this car.... as it's not a power gain to speak of. What really pisses me off is that you can but the MP3 RB axleback only section from the dealer for a song, but have to invest a grip for a complete catback for the P5. That's dirty ball AFAIK.

Might just buy the MP3 axleback piece and shorten the piping, as I'm just basically looking for a bit better "tone" from the car. The MazdaSpeed unit is not what I was looking for, at all. Does look nice though.

Thanks for the response. And for the OSU-MI tickets, yeah right. A friend of mine just sold a pair on Ebay for $900.00 (gotta love the college football fanatics who pay a grip to see a game in person!!)
