anyone installed tweeters in their cx-5 ?

I want to install tweeters in my cx-5 but because of the side air curtains I can't put them in the pillars...has anyone done this? I have changed out the
dash speakers and both front and rear speakers and the sound is so much better but it is still lacking without the tweeters.

I put components splits in; ie woofers in the doors and tweeters in the dash corners...

Maybe you just need a little amp on the ones you put in the dash. That would drive them more adding some kick to the high end and you could control the level of them with the amp as well as the crossover point.

I found the tweeters in mine were so loud off the amp I had to put add the attenuation blockers in the crossovers.

I think I was just spoiled by my previous system. I had a 2003 Pontiac vibe where I installed Boston tweeters in the window sails, Boston tweeters in the A pillars,
JL speakers in the front and rear doors and a sub in the trunk area. My amp was a JL Audio 5 channel and I also had a stand alone Kenwood equalizer. My head unit was Kenwood Excelon with blue tooth. I could bump the highs, mids and lows exactly as I wanted. When I purchased the Mazda I didn't research enough to fully understand how inadequate, to me, the Bose system was. I contacted Bose and asked them what price point this 9 speaker Bose system was and they would not let me know. I have replaced six of the 9 speakers ( not the center channel nor the back two tweeters) and the Bose speakers I removed were really of poor quality. Since the radio has no RCA connectors for an amp I would have to install an amp with speaker level inputs and I haven't had the best of luck in the past with this method but I have had terrific luck using the RCA method. So I'm still looking for a way to add some stand alone tweeters. I may end up making some pods and putting the tweeters in them and using Velcro
to attach them to the outer ends of the dash.
