Anyone in T.O. want to see my MSP??

Expect the clunk to haunt the MSP. Since it's the same rear suspension.....can't see why it wouldn't be there as well.

As for steering being light: Doesn't he have different wheels on now? I thought he did. If so, you can't judge the steering until the Potenza's are back on. My MP3 is razor sharp with my 17" wheels on. I have driven 325i's, 328i's etc, and they don't impress me as much. Now, the MP3 has a different steering column then the speed, but I would imagine that there's still a lot in common between the two. But, now with the winters on....yup sure enough she feels much lighter.

As for the color: Did you even like orange cars before? Could you see yourself driving orange cars before seeing the MSP in person? Obviously you can now so it impressed you.

DPMMSP! I'm still waiting dude! Where is ya? Got the beer, chicks, lambs ( rum btw :) ) all waitin for your arrival! LOL Guess I'll have to drink all this by myself, and ohhhh, the women ! A man's gotta do what man's gotta do.

Dpmmsp: I owe you a big thanks. I'm going to write up my driving impressions in a new thread (as they will be long) in about an hour.
Thats interesting that you thought the steering was light arkitek, but I guess its all what we're used to. For example, when I went from my car (Asuna Sunfire) to my parents car (Merc. Sable), I almost went off the road because the steering was so light. I had the same feeling going from the MSP to my car again - my car is light compared to the MSP (and the feedback was great). What a disappointing drive back in my old clap-trap. But I will start working on my review of the car now and post it soon enough.

Wow!.
sounds like this small meet turned out great!.
Glad it did. :) Man, i missed an opportunity to test drive somebody's MSP! dpmmsp, you are turly generous to have people drive around your brand new car!
Anyway Grimace, did you happen to take any pictures?.
I can't wait to see the write up of yours!
thanks.

No, I don't have a digital camera, and stupid me, forgot my "old school" camera at home (in my excitement).
My review is up now for your reading enjoyment. :)

Glad you guys had fun. I told you that you'd like the colour. Its cool getting other opinions of the car. Hopefully you'll all have your rides soon .... I'll just enjoy my exclusiveness for another week or two (except that other bastard in TO who got one and rained on my parade). Believe me, that part of my day was a lot better than the second half at Scarboro Town Centre. Thousands of people walking around like zombies with glazed over eyes. Put me down as "bah humbug". And I forgot to pick up a package at a store so I've got to go back tomorrow ...... #*/%#*@ .....
Oh well ... a drive is a drive. I'll see some of you at the Protege club dinner Thursday.

Newf .... When you said "lambs" I thought you might have meant Lamb's dark rum ... it's my favorite .... half and half with orange juice on ice ... try it ..... but because you said it in the same line as "chics" I couldn't be sure which you meant. I know the winter nights in Nfld can be long, cold and lonely.....(lol)
We may have to wait a little longer for me to get out there but thanks for the invite.

dpmmsp! Hey!, you went to Scarborough Town Centre today? I was there today too! Noo way!. What a coincidence. What time were you there? I was there b/t 2- 4 pm. The mall sucked with too many people rushing to get gifts and i ended up buying nothing but lindor chocolate for myself. Anyway, i should have known you were there!...Where'd you park anyway?

I got there after 2 and was there until 7(puke)
I did, however, leave with 3 big, full bags and killed off 75% of my shopping ..... amazing what you can do when you're desperate .... although some of the gifts are a little less creative than I would have preferred.
I like parking around the Sears and food court ... I got lucky and got a decent spot near the food court. It was like "Night of the Living Dead" in there wasn't it?

My xmas shopping was cut short. Couldn't stand the crowds. Gotta remind myself next year to start early and finish early.
At least the drive made up for it.

Hey, well it might have been 'the night of the living' dead for you..
but i had lefted shortly after 4 pm..so, i'm sure you had to go through more than i did....but just trying to get to get a parking space was a b****. You, as a brand new MSP owner, aren't you worried about door dings or what not? You're pretty much asking for it with a brand new Spicy Orange Car. :(
Not that these things are avoidable or could happen any time during your years of ownership. It's just that i'd stay away from the mall especially on Christmas madness weekends!

dpmmsp, do you have any other ways of contact?
ICQ perhaps?

it's all good dpmmsp. Maybe next time if we meet, we'll have all our cars, and we could have a 1st official MSP meet in Toronto. Hopefully, soon we can have a really exclusive MSPtoronto club!
I still think this is a great idea. Just imagine today, in the empty parking lot with 3 other sizzilling Spicy Orange's parked beside yours! :D YUmmmm

I keep telling you guys .... I don't know this crap .... what the f**k is an ICQ?
You can email me at sada0563@yahoo.com ....

The car is going to get dinged no matter what I do. The parking lot at work is what scares me. My Del Sol was so small and low no one would see it from their minivans, SUVs and domestic shitboxes. It was forever getting "touched". It had more dimples than a golf ball when I traded it in.

Right now the car is pretty safe. Until I figure out how to adjust the alarm sensitivity, the things chirps, honks or shouts if you so much as breathe on it. After I parked and was walking to the mall, all I heard was burp after burp everytime a car drove past it. I could still hear when I got inside the doors!!

Hey dpmmsp..
yeah i'm pretty sure on the next meet, we'll all have our cars. I think that is a better way for us to discuss about the car. When we have put a few hundred KMs on it, there will be more to talk about. Especially when it comes to modifications! :D
Anyway, doesn't seem like any of you guy's have a digital camera...For sure, when that meet of ours takes place i'll be the one taking a lot of pictures!
I don't know how to make our MSPtoronto club official. Should i talk to the adminstrator from Toronto Protege Club to start a thread for us? Or should we go our seperate ways with a MSPtoronto.com? I hope one of us is good at web designs if we go this route, because i know absolutely nothing about web design. :o

ICQ is a instant messaging system that allows us to see when one is online so we can chat instantly. It's like MSN Messager, if you know what that is?

Sorry .... you're still going over my head(stupid) .... Don't you hate us old farts?? ... especially when they're Mac users. How does one acquire ICQ?

I would go the TOProtege route. The cars will be so rare in any one area it would be hard to start a new group + I think I have already demonstrated how computer savy I am .... now imagine what I know about web design:confused:
Also, the contact I've had at this forum with members of the Toronto club has been very positive and friendly, and they'd probably quite accomodating. I'm looking forward to Thursday's dinner ..... also, if your part of their club, car-wise you'd be "top-of-the-heap" ..... don't tell them I said that:D

dpmmsp..
i guess if we seriously consider putting together a MSPtoronto club, we'll have to go through Toronto Protege Club admistrator to see if they are willingly enough to open up a new thread for us. I'm sure they'll be glad to do so, because one member (Forgot who) mentioned that if we were to talk to them about it, they'd do it in an instant.
Anyway, if this MSPtoronto club is for real, then at least we could talk to Artiket or Gramice to see if they can do any web design for us.
I think because of our Mazdaspeed's being soo rare, if we put together this club, our club would only have about 5 cars at each meet. It would probably be very boring (after 3/4 meets), unless the rest of the Toronto cars can some how find out about our club, then we'd have the complete Toronto MSP cars. That's the 'hypest'
did you understand the term that i used??..haha! :D

Btw, i am not any part of Toronto Protege Club member. I've probably posted less than 5 times since i signed up with them

I didn't understand what you meant by 'top of the heap'...maybe i'm too young for you to understand...
Just out of curosity, if you don't mind, can i ask, how old you are?:)

check out www.icq.com
for all the infomation that you need.
download it too!

not to try to confuse you or anything......but AOL IM is another very popular instant messaging program. you can get it from www.aol.com

seems to me to be a simpler program, more straightforward and novice friendly (why so many teeny boppers use it)

just more food for thought

Well.. serves me right for putting off registering on this site for sooo long. I missed the first-look :'(

toprotege welcomes all model proteges .. although there are only two mp3s now I think (me and Kurt). But if you MS guys think you are so special we can setup another host for you.. or a separate forum on the board. But we aim for togetherness.

Of course, the message board is offline right now and we're using the MPSport.net forums which do already have their own MSP section.

My car needs a 24k service .. maybe I should take it to Avante on Monday instead of Downtown ... hmmmmm

No, I didn't like orange cars before. Like the colour but just not on a car that's all.
Never thought I would find myself driving one, let alone owning one for that matter.
Now I've done the former, thanks to dpmmsp, and am just waiting for the latter.
