if the fact that the mazda5 does not allow you to continue to operate your power windows for a period of time after you turn the key off irks you as much as it does me, then i *may* have a solution for you.
back when i had a mazda3, someone from the mazda3 forums designed a simple circuit to modify the power routing through the fuse box and incorporate a timed delay for power window operation after key off. i built a module, and it worked flawlessly on my mz3 for the four years i owned it. i had the module programmed to provide power to the windows for two minutes after the key is turned off. a nice touch on the design is that it did not involve any splicing or modification to the car. it simply replaced some of the fuses in the passenger compartment fuse box with modified fuses wired into a small module.
now i can not live without this feature. when i traded the mz3 in, i removed the module, reverting the car back to stock. i am planning to install it on my new mz5, but it won't be quite as plug-n-play, as the mz5 fuse box is quite different and some of the circuits that i need to tap into are in the engine compartment, not the passenger compartment. if it all works out, i will post the details and complete DIY here.
