Any heard of A1 cvTech

Before you buy you need to think. If you're hooking up good enough to break an axle what's going to break if the axles don't? Trans, diff, etc. I'd rather break $50 axles than a transmission

Just my opinion. But if you really want you can get msp axles 2mm bigger or just get a shop to make you custom ones

I have a MFactory LSD already in the car, it's rated for around 800hp so I guess the gears would go.

Because they make rediculous amounts of power. It's a never ending story when you do hard launches something is going to break, either traction or parts. The hard part with fwds with weak drive trains is getting some wheel spin but not too much, it will make track times slower but will keep from breaking stuff

Do they offer hubs? Ive seen 240's destroy their hubs apart..

They could machine your hubs to work with their race shafts, on the website it offered lifetime in the email I.dont remember. Have to go thru my trash file cause I forgot all about this thread

300whp? 600$can.for the pair with broached hubs(28 splines)plus shipping.

Nick.
The stock msp shafts will easily handle that, i plan on pushing over 550WHP do they offer anything for that?

As far as what i've seen in the past...the weakest link for turbo'd proteges goes in this order...other than stock clutches:

First run MSP LSD (the non 'welded' diffs)
standard 2.0L axles
3rd and 4th gears (there are options for replacements on those still)
MSP axles (2mm larger diameter shafts)
updated MSP LSD
G series case

the case being pretty much the only thing that can't be reinforced...at least easily.

3rd gear, from what i remember, is one that will give you problems...many that put down around 300whp started popping 3rd gear, or an MSP axle...I'd assume its usually one or the other. Its a coin toss on whether it will be an MSP axle or the gear itself. People that have rebuilt G series boxes stated that 1st, 2nd, and 5th are 'thicker' than 3rd and 4th...

so after all those are addressed...the last thing to break is the case...Lou, if you're serious about 550whp, thats probably something to look in to.

I have talked to PAR about all these issues, Installshield 2 thank you for posting up the correct orderof problems that our trannnys have. PAR said with all the gears, Two Shafts, reinforcement cups, and axles that I should be good for 550 WHP. Oh and a Qualife LSD.

I edited it a little, i too was digging around on PAR's site about it. I had posted 5th as being weak, but they list 3rd and 4th are the gears needing replaced...i'll take their word for it, the stuff they make for G series boxes is incredible. BrianMP5T posted some pictures of a straight-cut gear set from them...I'm guessing your engine will flip out of the front of the car before those things will break...

550whp most likely a different story!! I have only seen one or two cases of broken protege axles on the forum and i remember on was with slicks... I replaced both mine with salved replacements and have been well over 350whp for many many miles with SLIGHTLY aggressive driving! Aside form Slicks and 1st gear launches...
I replaced both mine mostly from being so low... causing clicky cv's
