Stupidest thing thats ever happened. All though not that bad just stupid. I was sitting in back of a row a parked cars (blocking them in kinda thing) just waiting for my girlfriend to come out to the car and she starts to walk out and sees a friend and says " oh andy come meet ___." idn his name. but i yanked the E-brake and got out to meet him. not even getting to the sidewalk yet BAMM! i turn and look and theirs a bad '93 cavalier halfway in my front bumper. (gah) it was all smashed in on the pass. side and sizzleing going on under the hood. i ran over n shut the car off n popped the hood. the cap to the windshield washer fluid was off and just sitting ontop as if it was popped off. and there was fluid leaking everywhere.( just windshield fluid im pretty sure it was all blue which is the color fluid i have.) when i shut the hood the indent in the bumper popped back out. got insurance info blah blha blah.. my questions to you guys are, anything around that area that i should be worried about, i dont know this car too well like idn if there IC piping there or anything else. also there is a hissing sound near the power stearing fluid resevior, like air is escaping/ being sucked in. Also another question is what do you guys think about the scenario, Insurance wise. since i was technically "parked" behind the row of cars. and because i wasnt in the car when the car was hit. any comments or feedback i appreciate. Thanks guys.

he hit your car, despite you being temporarily parked.
he was at fault, i am pretty sure he will still be considered at fault because he was the one moving, he was being careless and hit your car. If not your car, it coulda been a pedestrian, fire hydrant, parking curb/pole, etc.

Pretty sure you will be just fine, blame-wise.

I think I'm gunna park my car in the garage and leave it for this year... Why is everyone getting hit? What is going on lol?

This really sucks, stupid cavalier... He should be completely at fault simply because he hit you, in a parking lot, I don't see anything you've done wrong/illegal to make you partially at fault. Sure you may not have been in a parking spot, but people driving around in paring lots should be going slow anyways to look out for other things just in case.

Hope things work out.

thanks i appreciate it and i think the same thing all of you are saying.. BTW it was a woman.. go figure. lol.

no IC piping on the car.. the hissing sound (if the engine is running) could just be the power steering pump/pulley... all engine accessories are on the passenger side, is their still clearance from the shock tower to the engine?

so far estimate is $1200.. not too bad.. but thats before the bumper comes off.. after that well see the true damage.

Dude that sucks! It never ends right? I had a fender bender last Thursday. I backed into a security companies vehicle and banged up rear bumper. My stupid fault. Christ!

in the state of ohio the person backing is ALWAYS at fault. my sister had someone back out of a parking spot and hit her, and the chick tried to claim that my sister swerved over TO hit her. the cop said "i don't care. you were in reverse. your fault." and handed her the ticket.

Take a deep breath, relax, and let the insurance deal with it. Take some pics and post it up if you still haven't taken it in.

pretty much already settled. it goes in the shop monday and they estimated 4 days repair. so ill say a week. and i get a rental car as soon as i drop it off ffrom enterprise.. requesting a M/T car so i can have some fun with something idc about lol.
