Aftermarket brake pads, are there any yet?

Besides the Carbotechs on the RPM site which I may end up getting, are there any other manufacturers of brake pads out there? I can't find EBC or Hawk brake pads that fit the MS6. I'm guessing they just are'nt available. Any other suggestions?

I am looking for a street pad, thats ULTRA low dust & noise.
If they STOP the car, even better..........(ughdance)

And just for future reference, from what I have read so far, low dust & noise pads are made from Ceramic material......true/false. Then what are stock pads made from? and are there other materials I should be looking at?

Aight..........Protege' Garage appears to have the EBC pads or a MS6, waiting on a reply from them verifying they will fit for sure.

Last time I asked Ken stated sometime in Jan/Feb so if the are available post it up. Also, can you post up a pic so I can see what your car looks like with the chrome wheels. I can not make a decision on gunmetal, chrome, black ect.

OEM brake pads are typically made from a carbon metalic compound that is based on resin type formula with has a high copper content and a bit of rubber for initial bite. The lower dust brake pads are made from Carbon Ceramic with a lower copper and iron content. The latter is more stable which creates less dust and and noise that it in fact also less corrosive.

I have checked with EBC and they have pads listed under Mazda 6 2.3l turbo 2006-. You would think that would be for the speed6, but I emailed them to verify if they meant the MS6 and they told me the pads was for a Mazda 6 with turbo. I assume the person answering the email was not well educated in brake applications. I did download the the EBC application guide and it only lists pads for a Mazda 6 2.3l turbo.
The part# is DP31773C for red EBC's.
Does anyone have them installed or know if that is the right part # for MS6.

ProtegeGarage's website (its in the approved venders list on this forum) has two different items:
1) EBC Greenstuff Street Pads for a MazdaSpeed6 #DP21773 $59.95, these say they are for the FRONT only and that they fit the MS6.
2) EBC Greenstuff Street Pads for a Mazda 6 #DP2729 $59.95, these say they are for the rear for a Mazda 6.

So it appears that only the FRONT pads are available from EBC Greenstuff for the MS6. I have not confirmed this with them yet tho. I think I'm gonna try the Carbotechs from RPM site, they are quite a bit more expensive tho.

I am going to try and reach Ken at Protege garage to see if he has the EBC in stock. I want to change out the pads once I make a decision on wheels and mount them.

Pretty late, but I found this thread by search for part no. DP31773C

Seems EBC DOES make Redstuff rears for the 2.3L Mazda 6 Turbo (Speed6).
They also make Yellowstuff pads, and Greenstuff full set.

A friend of mine with a Speed6 used replacement pads for an Audi S4 and they fit perfectly. He also did a write up on another forum. Could be an interesting test if you can source nice aftermarket S4 pads.
