Actual storage compartment for useless compartment left of steering wheel

Found this while cruising eBay - has anyone bought one and tried it?

It's an actual, functional storage compartment for the useless "cubby hole" to the lower left of the steering wheel:

Why didn't Mazda make that hole useful like the aftermarket part? (boom01)

I believe it'd be better getting the OEM cubby with lid used in Mazda6. It should fit into CX-5 perfectly (but nobody had actually tried for the fitness).

Mazda basically just leaves a useless hole there in CX-5 apparently positioning it as a mid-level CUV and also for cost saving.

Mildly irritated by that rather useless cubby myself, so I've thought about that exact style insert--but end up doing a mental "nah", as it really doesn't add anything at least for my own potential usage. I don't smoke, my phone wouldn't fit in there nor would I ever put it in that location in terms of accessibility for me, and anyone who would leave credit cards or cash there is just asking to be broken into. So, that would leave me with....a sectioned insert.

The idea of an insert with a lid is much more appealing to me...and would be cleaner looking overall.
