Ac Line?

i ****** up and dropped the 4 gauge power wire from my amp onto the ac line and it put 2 little holes in it and all the freon came out. anyone know how much that line is or if there is something i can use to repair it??? its the one on the drivers side right next to the head light assembly....

if im correct, BOTH air conditioning lines are on the passenger side, not the drivers side. matter of fact, i know they are...

anyhow, how did a power wire puncture something?

it could be an ac line, but i was thinking of where the charging valves are, they are on the other side, uhm, i still do not understand how a power wire punctured it, but if freon came out, then its OBVIOUSLY ac, try autozone, for an ac repair kit or something

well I am guessing that the power wire was connected to the battery at the time and when he dropped it, it hit the metal part of the line going to the condenser....when it did it grounded out causing a spark and it made contact long enough to cause the line to melt....much like melting medal with a welder....

sorry...but considering the high presure that your system works at....replacing that line is truely your only option. if you don't...and just "band-aid" it....you will be filling your system more often than you want to. and its not cheap either.

ac work isnt cheap, and thats just "charging" the system, to replace the whole line, that could get pricey...look in junkyards, and see if you can find that line.
