About to get a P5...

Hi everyone!

Very new to this board. Glad to found it.

I am about to get a P5 on a lease for my wife. Heh, will make sure that I drive it too. I like how it looks, peppy little monster, owners seem to be very happy with the car - figured I can't go wrong. Too bad Ford is killing it in the future but oh well.

I am driving a 2002 Altima - was possibly looking into trading in for a Mazda 6 (as I can get Mazda at S-plan price) but - dealer really wanted to **** me on the trade-in. And I was not really impressed with the 6 anyway so I told them "Ya'll just keep it".

So anyway - nice to see a cool board like this - now I can post in both Altima and P5 boards. buhahahaha...

I would say go for the P5 and keep it for yourself. Your going to love it THAT much. Theres a pretty good Dallas Protege scene starting up and it would be nice to have it grow.

This is the last year for the protege. It's being replaced by the Mazda 3.

Well............s***! Only two years for a model?

How will this effect trade in? What about parts in the future?

what do you guys think of the Mazda3 Looks?

It has that Nissan Murano look to it to me.. but smaller.. I'm not a fan of chrome door handles.. I love the look of body color door handles..

that angle reminds me of a VW golf.. haha.. the front angle reminds me of the nissan murano.. what's wrong with me?? hehehe..

I'm sure there's been enough Protege5s produced to warrant a continued market for aftermarket accessories as well as factory parts. Your warranty will still be just as good, as there is no clause that states anything about lack of warranty should the model be replaced.

Plus I'd rather get a later year model of a car than a first production run of another. You never know what sort of bugs, recalls, issues, etc. might be associated with the 3.

Have to remember folks that these aren't pictures of the production car. I imagine a lot of these features will change. Dual exhaust is almost absolutely not gonna carry into production

yea i would assume the duals would not carry over...if they didnt make the ass look like a bubble i think i would dig it...i certainly dig the interior, although the picture is a bit dark but it looks like it might be hell to add a deck...but then again i cant tell what is heat controls, what is radio controls, etc

I don't like the 3 at all. Has too much of a Matrix or Vibe look. Just doesn't look as much of a sports car as does our P5's

Get the P5! You won't be happier with anything else, I know I wouldn't.

Don't worry the P5 already has the best trade in rates of all the proteges.

Nope, the new motor will be nothing like out beloved FS. It's the same 2.3 that's in the Mazda 6. On the bright side Ford didn't have anything to do with this motor.
