well i made a build list here and i realized THATS TO MUCH MONEY...
so i wana see what i can do with a lower cost

well for the TURBO i wana keep the stock setup for now until i decide to throw more money away on my lovely msp lol

ima start with a FMIC with relocated MAF and hks ssqv $idk cause its gona be custom

then get a DSM AFC II $300 sumthin

then work on the block..this is where i need help deciding on what to get
Arias Piston and Pauter Rod Combo $1,299.95
ARP Head Stud Kit $115.95
AWR Deep Sump Baffled Oil Pan $349.99
Complete Bearing Set $239.95
Complete Engine Gasket Set $229.95

now what compression should i go with?
and how much boost can i get up to without working on timing? cause i wana just stick with the AFC
also when will i need bigger injectors?

as for cooling..will i need any other cooling additions like radiator and fans?

if there is anything else you would like to add go ahead

i would go with 8.5 to 1. this gives you flexibility down the road to make big numbers on big boost without sacrificing much of anything down low. on stock timing i would not exceed 12psi, personally, even with forged internals. you could go with some flexalite or spal slim fans and an AWR radiator but for the level of boost being run i'd say its not needed.

to me if you are going to spend the money on this kind of gear i would bite the bullet and make it all worth while with true engine management.

Do you really need the oil pan? You could save yourself quite a bit there.

If he plans on taking turns hard he is going to be glad he has it or a spun bearing for him. Well at least a big Possibility.

Yeah but the AWR pan is a crap design. Sucks that the good way to stop the oil starvation issue (trap doors and such) would cost 500-600 a pan. I held one for our cars in my hands and it was beautiful. Of course it was for a protege race car so money was no issue :P

well in the future yes i will be going all the way..but i want something to do over winter to have a much faster cause in the spring. and because getting the car was so recent i couldnt plan for this lol. so for now ima stick with this..thats for the help

should i get a j & s

Hey you could go pauter rods, stock piston lower compresssion to 8-5-1 and all OEM gasket, bolts etc. Get a good fmic and have a shop fab up a turbo back exhuast. Get a mpi with extra injectors . There are several floating on here for 400-500 bucks. Get a wb o2 and called it a day run 12 psi all day long on stock turbo . 240 whp to 250 whp . Theh upgrade to bigger turbo down the road and adress the tranny issue with a quafiee and 3rd and 4th gears and get 300 plus whp. So 4000.00-6000.00 and you could get 240-250 whp very reliably and have it setup for more in the future . I think iam going to go this route in the near future . I think i will adress the tranny first, so it will be done with 1st. Tranny issue will be around 2500.00 or so . Qaufie and 3rd and 4th gear . I guess you could throw in a clutch too to hold the poweR LATER .

for what you are gonna spend on the DSM AFC you can put into a megasquirt and have basically unlimited potential (management wise). It requires you to learn more about your car, but thats the point right.

mPI EXTRA INJECTORS RAN GREAT ON MY CAR It did blow up though . But hey if i had forged it id be good to go .

Honestly man, I would personally not go the MPI route. Right now I have the unichip on my car(tuned to JDMSam Specs), but if I had it to do over again id of gone full standalone if you wanna do it, do it right. E6x is just gonna cost you a couple hundred more, even the Microtech. I havent had to much experience with the megasquirt, but I do know someone who is fixing to put it on an old sterling.

BTW dont get me wrong the MPI is a good product and it works(cant beat that for the price). But like I said in order to make big numbers down the road you will have to upgrade, and shoot why not do it now.

Last post I swear, you can stick to stock timing up to 12psi on STOCK turbo. After that its like twisting the handle on the jack in the box. You never know when its gonna pop.

Why do you say that I was making 240 to 250 whp trapping almost 104 with the Mpi with no problems . What kind of numbers are you and Sam getting ou tof the Unichip. I would like to know . Confence me why not Mpi .
