A question for those with an EBC

I was wandering if your boost still fades with your EBC? b/c with my mbc my boost spikes at 10, then falls to 6-7 psi. I was talking to a guy online with a greddy prefec b and his boost is steady, so I was just wandering if an ebc will hold boost steady.

It depends on what kind of EBC. If they have stepping motors, or are dual stsage, the drop will be minimal to none.

I know we have had this discussion before, but just so others know too :) - my Blitz DSBC would drop off from 10 to about 7-8 psi also until I tightened the wastegate rod a bit. If I ran 12 psi, it would drop to about 9.

I havent had a problem with anything fading, but Joe has the right idea. If anything its through the wastegate. The only reason I have an EBC is because GReddy products pretty much all work with eachother.

I installed my MBC today and as far as a drop goes I really don't notice a huge one. I mean it'll spike around 10-11 and then kinda fall to 9-10, I assume that's pretty much what it's suppose to do. The stock boost seemed to fall off more than this though, that would spike almost to seven and then fall off to five, I mean I guess it's pretty much the same then if it was going from 7-5 and now it's going from 11-9, who knows, my car has been running very healthy since the day I got it (knock on wood) and now with a little eh hmm added boost it's a whole new monster.

yeah mine drops off a little. Now I'm running a steady 10.5 PSI. Just jacked with my gain and boost. Now if I punch it in 3rd gear at like 35 mph, then it will spike sometimes but i have the nice boost cut feature. Joe when I capped mine it helped the problem alot, thats why i think its still the BOV (or recirculating valve if you want to be a dick lol)

mine drops but now for some reason i cant get more than 6psi when i turn it on. Stock boost still works fine though. I think its time to call greddy

yes, b/c I have talked to several ppl with the profec and they have no spike or fade.....
Dude, why are you so worried about it? Every time I get on here, there's a new thread about the drop. Just be happy you have your car. :D

Hmm. Odd. I could block mine off and it would drop the same. It would also still drop at higher boost levels to a few psi lower too. If it were the bov/bpv, whatever :), it would have dropped to the same psi every time. It would just go like 2 psi drop no matter what the boost was set to. Have you looked at the actual chamber on the BPV? I can't see how it could open? Oh well, if yours leaks, and mine didn't, that's just how it goes. Replace it and be done with it :).

I think Dex's bad luck stems from the s*** he gave me about moving my STi post. Bad karma man, bad karma. :D

Yeah thats what i'm thinkin, some times it will drop like 2 psi other times it will not drop but .1 bar? When i capped it it was alot more steady but it doesnt drop all the time. Yeah I have an HKS SSBV but i'm moving right now and not even thinkin bout car stuff right now
