600$ to mod? verge of stage 2?

Ok so i got

test pipe bov and intake covered(CAI +inlet)... also got the lower engine mount and springs going into the car soon...

i got 600$ of christmas cash... and i am seriously about to buy the ETS TMIC on discount unless u guys change my opinion

i am kinda torn if i should get a cat back... i am staying in the warranty orange zone as i call it(im not voided yet.. and am getting damn good at tearing this car apart and putting it together... if someone needs pit man... call me... lol jk)... and hear without significant boost increase the stock exhaust can only give HP via cat removal since my test pipe... i can see whats left going to the turbo is like basically a cat with 2inches of pipe on each end(stock dp is funny)

the other thing i was considering was the AP... but it seems like a half way solution to tune the vehicle... the amount of maps i see offered.. is for lack of a better word... sad... none of the maps match the mods i have on... or the ones i plan on putting on...

so i guess im sorta torb between the three... and also maybe spluging on suspension and getting a rear sway plus end links from AWR for the front and a cry02 kit?

also the rear diff mount... if it aint broke yet... is replacing it really going to help... i almost bought one from SU... but it boters me the way they put a pic of a time slip on showing an awesome 60' time... but right on top it shows the reaction time for that launch is .4 sec earlier... which makes the net gain from the SU diff mount .1 sec at best... and that could be a bad shift or a lunch launch... so i dunno why that slip is even up... unless i misunderstand how R/T is calculated but its when u start moving vs the light going green right? as long as u dont void by passing the line?

its kinda early... sorry im all over the place with this post guys... let me know what u all think... i am looking to make this a better vehicle as a whole... and right now my biggest issue is body roll (but i just have a hard time believin that 1mm thicker sways are worth the 600$ it would cost both front and back... when it seems like the end links can be used to get much move oomph out the stock ones?

ok ill stop rambling now... thx for the input... i love this fourm... lots of knowledge here

Well if your looking for numbers gain, an AP ain't gonna do that much with your mods as of yet. With $600, personally since you already have the test pipe, get a down pipe. Maybe you can find one used. If you can good enough of a deal, you can get a custom 3" CBE. After that it would be worth while to get an AP. A top mount alone wouldn't yield as much gain as a full exhaust.

If your looking more for handling performance, a good set of sways and rear diff mount would be the best for $600.

It's all about exactly what your looking for. Spend your money on something you won't regret later. Hope I helped.

See sig in my thread for details on what to look at.

Personally, the AP or TMIC would be useful, and easy to remove for warranty. The DP is a big PITA, but gives big gains, and isn't as easy to take out.

Id say a AP would be a great mod for ya. While it will not give you huge numbers as far as gain it will make what you have more useable... Case in point is my car. It is stock engine wise as far as mods other than a BOV for the awsome "pssshhhh" noise it makes :).... Dynoed it stock and with the AP using the 91 octane map. at 6000 rpm there was a 81hp increase due to the AP holding boost over stock drop off... 81 frigin HP increase over stock.....I could go to the 93 octane map, as I only use 93 octane in my VRMS6, and see more gains but am holding off till I get the Denso ITV22 plugs installed...
Well worth the money in my opinion....

is the AP going to let me do the same thing as the full control flash? and also is there some way of being able to put 100% custom maps on the thing or is it purely for the purpose of putting down very predetermined maps... cuz like someone said... my mod list... heck i guess the CP-e intake is like the mscai... but the whole turbo backexhaust mixed with intakes option for mods seems ludicrus...

considering thats such a miniscule section of the modding world... and hp figures seem to come themselves with the mods they seem to support... im more worried about my car not blowing up with a new manifold on or a custom IC setup with a wet sot or something... anyways... i would greatly appretiate someone explaining what i can and cant do with an ap vs the standback... cuz it seems the opinions i get are mainly from ppl who want me to get on or the other... since if someone is selling me on getting one... they usually only know what the other cant do...not the advantges of each...
a

anyways hope someone can shed some light

i would get the ap i makes a hell of a difference top end i mean you can feel and see it...it makes me smile everytime i go to 6700rpm and see my boost just sittin there at 17-18psi...and it gives you 2step n wot..and datalogging and a bunch of other goodies

The AP, regardless of map, will open the throttle up like the FC flash does.

Also, you can go and get an e-tune or a dyno tune at any shop that works with ATR/ATP (tuning software for Cobb).

HP is only one facet of the total picture of a flash. With the enhanced throttle control, ignition/timing adjustments, and fattening up of the power band, even a stock car stands to benefit. From the factory, the car runs rich and piggish, the AP/SB fixes that.

From what I've seen, the SB is nice, but it really stands for those trying to make more power and isn't as user friendly out of the box as the AP. Plus, the flashes and updates through CP-e can be a pain down the road.

thx steve ur da man!!!

i went and bought the cobb. i might have to ask in a different section but with the following mods what map should i use
(always run 93 btw)
TURBO XS hyrbid bov and race pipe
CP-e CAI intake and turbo inlet and lower motor mount
any suggestions welcome... im thinking a MSCAI map stage one... since race pipe doesnt really mean much right? although i swear it made more of a differance than my full exhaust(including the dp) did on my mazdaspeed miata

and i get that hp isnt much... heck torque means more to me personally and when it comes on... since no torque means under high load ur car is worthless(aka passsegers or hills... or bigger tires and rims)

ye the electric throttle alone prolly kills a good 30hp over the length of the curve i just want the car to drive my way not the way mazda wants... any help is appretiated

and CP-e if ur reading this... much love... just u know "leo" is an impulse shopper... hurry up with that intake manifold so i can buy it already

Don't use the MSCAI map at all, the intakes are a little bit different.

I'd run a basic stage 1 93 (if possible) map for now, since most of the maps are not specific for the CP-e parts (go figure). It won't hurt to run the generic map, but don't use a map that is designed for other parts entirely.

Also, make sure your BOV is on full recirc. That can mess with fueling if not.

Here's a link to a lot of maps, check the AP discussion thread too.

there is no full recirc mode... the hybrid valve doesnt send a CEL it holds boost better... i guess ur not familiar with turboxs products... but their hybrid valve is adjustable only with shims there is no way to adjust how much it recirculates

the maps on that page... i notice a stage 2 cpecai 93+ LAIC... whats LAIC? and in general wtf do all the abbreviations mean... cuz i dont wanna dl something i cant even understand what for it was designed... anyways also the FUCAI? whats that? the fujitsu cai is very similar to the CPE unit i believe with all but the MAF sensor location changed

No, I'm not familiar with the TXS valves, but usually, a hybrid allows either 50/50 or full recirc/full VTA.

LAIC is liquid to air intercooler. FUCAI is Fujita CAI.

any way u could translate the rest of it... like TIH and what TMIC are they reffering to... or what FMIC... how would i know what mods the maps are for if theres no key for the short hand code?..myb im ignorant... but this seems like something u don't want people misunderstanding... cuz theyll blow up their engine... since a corksport FMIC is way different from a CPE...

thats Steve, u have been super helpful... i am running sate 1... anyone think they can share something with me about these datalogs?

I've broken all of that down, just go look at the 'Cobb AP discussion thread', you'll find more info for all of the AP questions you might have.

ok word... while im here anyone think they can comment on these two quick logs if the stage 1 93 is running ok?

Logs look good, nothing crazy in there that I saw. One suggestion though, post them with colored and formatted cells, it makes things easier to read when you're scrolling through it. Otherwise there are a lot of numbers that get muddled.
