1st MP3 in NH said:
The P5 came out in 01 even though it was called a 02. It was for sale duting the same time as the MP3. The dealers were just getting the first shippment of P5s when I bought my car in June 2001.

damn you got ur MP3 early, i ordered mine in june and didnt get it till begining of august. I only saw 1 on the road b4 i got mine, it was in south jersey somewhere.

I had the first in NH. Hence the user name. I picked mine up on June 13th 2003. The P5s were just coming around.
No one around me even new the MP3 was coming out. I just stumbled acrossed it while my MX-6 was in for service.

There are only two model years of P5 right now. 2002 and 2003, regardless of when you bought them, that's it. In Canada there is no 2003.5 to be released I don't think, but from the people at the Mazda dealership, it sounded to me like a 2004 model would be released, basically unchanged from the 2003.

The Mazda3 replacement isn't ready yet from what I understood, and the sales of the P5 are so good they might continue it another year. The dealership said they had expected to sell 5000 units Canada wide of the original 2002 release, and instead they ended up moving 2000-3000 per month.

In Vancouver these cars are getting to be everywhere, and while I find it interesting that the car could have such a short production run, making it slightly more unique, it also means that the aftermarket won't develop as well for it, which kind of sucks.

KYREDP5: "Will the Miata be released with a Mazdaspeed version next year??"

**Shakes Magic 8-Ball**

Magic 8-Ball: "Sources point to YES"

KYREDP5:"SWEEET!!!!"

LOL :D Not quite. I'm on a friendly basis with two diffrent Mazda sales managers. (2 diffrent dealers) When both their stories, and what I read from magizines, and websites all match up I tend to lean towards believeing it.

1st MP3~ At a European auto show Mazda had what they called a MPS Atenza (6). It was a working turbocharged 2.3 ltr 4, with AWD. If they already have a working model why would they not make it the Mazdaspeed model, just wouldn't make sense that way. :D

MPS 6

MPS Miata (I do not believe the MS Miata will be N/A though)

Draw your own conclusions.

The Pro 5 was released in mid May 2001 as a 2002. Mazda's inital expectations where for annual sales in the states at 12,000 units.

IMO, I think the Mazda 3 looks pretty nice. Put some nice lowering springs, some Volks or BBS wheels on it, and maybe some body kit. I think it would actually look pretty nice. :P

I totally agree, but I just wish the 3 was a 2 door hatch........ maybe one day, a limited run like a turbo AWD MazdaSpeed3 or something to commemorate the 323 GT-Rs and GT-Xs of the early
90s :D (you heard it HERE first hehehe  )

The MS2 Miata is a 2.0L 200 HP miata, as far as I know it IS comming to the US. I sell Mazda's in Knoxville, TN and have done so now for 3 years. The MS2 Miata will sell alot better than the MS2 Protege for one simple reason, the people who will look at the MS2 Miata are more capable of buying it. No offense to MS2 Protege fans, but lets face it, The majority of people looking at it either have No/bad credit, or they are not old enough to buy it. The miata's buyers are older and usually more capable of buying it.
The MS2 RX-8 looks goooooooddddddd. The cross-drilled rotors set the car off, but I'm dissapointed that they didn't turbo this one. Well, something to dream about.

well my source was from a mazda rep personaly so ill will find more info out on it and if they do come out with a msp5 i will be soo HAPPY have to get some parts there, but ill get back to ya,
