2002 Mazda Protege 5 loud noise

hi all i have mazda 2002 protege 5,recently i have noticed a loud wooo like noise coming from the front area
i was told its the bearing inside the motor where the drive haft meets the engine

has anyone had similar issiues and if so what is the bet approach
