Went to advance and autozone looking for a spray can of 18J paint for my 99. It's the dark green from that year. No one has the spray paint cans of it! only the retarded bush pens...does anyone know where I can get a spray can of it?

Try and use this site...

http://www.paintscratch.com/

The paint is rather expensive, but I contacted Duplicolor and this was the site they recommended. I got some paint being shipped to me now to paint my front grill. I think I paid $60 shipped for a 12 oz can of paint, clear coat, and some adhesive compound that helps the paint hold (dont know if I really needed it or not).

I have the exact same color code and couldn't find the spray either, but the small brush suited my needs just fine. Sorry I can't help.

eh, dont need it anymore. Boughta gravity feed sprayer today. Going to get the paint in a day or do and just spray it, its a big enough area that i really should sand and prep it rather than just a little touch up paint. thanks though

where are you getting the paint for the gravity feed sprayer? How much does that run, and about how much does the sprayer run? I might want to get one myself.

i got the sprayer for like $80 at a mechanic tool store near my house. When you get it, take the container off and see if the outlet from the container into the handle is a funnel shape and just not a flat surface, it helps with the paint draining out to the sprayer. The paint im going to first see how much it is at the dealer, if not there is an import shop im going to check out or dupont. This is going to be handy cause im goign to do a full msp front end conversion this summer and i dont wana pay for labor to paint.

Emerald Green Paint match? 18J

This is an old thread, but would appreciate any feedback.

I went to Autozone to get touch-up paint for 18J, aka Emerald Mica. (2000 Protege ES sedan)

The Duplicolor reference guide referred me to Ford code SU aka Amazon Green. (Duplicolor #NG FM 350)

I'm not expecting a 100% match, but I'd like to know if they're close (or the same) and if anybody has experience. The product is the Duplicolor 2in1 pen/brush, which I like, but I don't want to open it and blow the 6 bucks if the color isn't going to be close.

i used the duplicolor #DSGM340 for touch ups but it was the spray can. i would imagine the the numbers would be the same. i have an 18J 00 ES

Raising this thread from the dead, I know. Sorry.

Duplicolor DSGM340 is GM Silver 5oz bottle according to the Duplicolor color selection sheet on their site:

https://www.duplicolor.com/color_selection.pdf

Amazon Green is indeed referenced for 2003 Protege; NGFM350 for the 1/2 oz scratch fix. The color is used for both Fords and Mazdas. Only source for a rattle-can that I have found is http://www.paintscratch.com. I am ordering a can of the matching clear as well.

18J is also known as Emerald Green Mica, Grace Green, or Racing Green

Matching Paint

If you can find the exact color at Duplicolor, it will be cheaper than paintscratch. But if you need an exact match (which looks much better), it be worth it to pay the difference. Plus their spray cans are bigger.

i just sprayed my trunk after fixing some rust spots, i'll post up a pic or two showing the color difference (i used the closest color at advance auto) and two coats of clear.
