16" winter tires void warranty?

Would using 16" winter tires void our warranty? Especially given that I've read on this forum that Canada models use 16" rims.

Does switching over to 16" rims adversely effect any of the electronic nannies?

Traction Control System (TCS)- ?
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)- ?
ABS- fine
Tire pressure- disconnect, don't care

Thx

Yes it would void your OEM tire warranty..........since its not OEM anymore.
No it would not void your car warranty. Magnuson-Moss warranty act cover you as a consumer. You could not be denied warranty service because you alter the car unless its directly a result to your modification. Example you have warranty claim because your OEM stereo stop working you could not be denied warranty if you have different wheel and tire as what came from factory.

As long as you use same diameter, close to stock width, same tire on all four corners and close to stock wheel offset it should not be a problem for traction control, stability control and ABS.

On some cars I heard it might disable stability control if your TPMS lights is on which I think its hard to believe since you most likely would need stability control when you have blow out. Haven't got real experience with my 2010 yet.

The increased engine speed for decreased tire diameter caused the alternator to run at a higher voltage burning out your stereo system. Warranty claim denied. ;)

Just kidding. No it won't void your vehicle warranty.

I have the 2010 GT with stock alloy 17" rims. Size of tire = 205 50R17
If you look up the GS model they come with 16" rims. Size of tire = 205 55R16

In my case I have the "low profile" 17" rim that I intend to run only during the 3 seasons.
I have a set of winter tires on 16" rims intended for the winter months.
The two tires types are relatively identical if you consider the total diameter size.
The 16" is large enough to clear your brakes calipers.

Hope this helps...
