Hi all. New to this forum and enjoying the community already. Thanks to all!

Not sure if this post should be here, but I didn't know where else to put it (mods- please move as needed).

I have an 09 GT with rear air. The front A/C functions work correctly. The issue is that the rear blower is working, but I have very little (if any) airflow actually coming out of the rear vent. When you cycle through the OFF/LOW/HI settings, you can hear the rear blower change speeds correctly (but still no change in air flow). Thinking, there might be a blockage in the ducting, I took off the center console unit and verified it was clear. Now I can visible see the rear blower "squirrel cage" when cycling through the fan speeds, and it still seems to working correctly.

So my question now is, what else should I check? What else do I need to disassemble? I thought that maybe I should take a look at the cabin filters, but then realized that any blockage there would cause issues with the front A/C operation which is OK (am I right on this?).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Ben

It's been a while since I had to remove the center console so I don't remember, but was the blower attached to the console or the floor? Can you remove it and look ahead of it? Since the service manual isn't available to us for '08+ models with rear a/c, I can't confirm whether a damper has been incorporated for the rear blower.

Thanks for the input Aaron. No service manual fo 08+ w/ rear a/c?!?! No wonder why I couldn't find anything on this.

From what I can tell, the rear blower unit is indeed bolted to the floor. I'll remove the front floor console/panels (section under the shifter) and see if I can remove the rear blower. Good point about the damper door; I'll look for it and see if it works.

Update: I finally got all of the trim pieces off to expose the rear blower unit; all of the pieces came off easiy, EXCEPT for the 2 clips on the forward center console located right above the shifter (ended up breaking 1 of them). While looking around, I for some reason decided to press the Fresh/Re-circ button (it was on Re-circ).... go figure no more rear air problems. I tried to recreate the problem, but haven't had any luck.

Another phantom electrical glitch to keep an eye on ...

Thanks for the help.

Good news. But since the problem wasn't found, it always makes you a little uneasy about it returning. At least you now know how to get things apart.
