00-02 ECU swap?

Hey guys, my friend's 01 got wrecked, and she found a 00 shell that need a motor.
Will the 2.0 engine swap in without doin an ECU swap, or does she need to swap that too?
I know physically the 2.0 will fit, they're both auto, but I'm not sure about the ECU.

99-00 only got 1.6 and 1.8 motors so yes Ecu will need to be swapped

Will the ECU work? I know if it was the 1.8 it would, since it already had the vics and vtcs wiring and such, but the 1.6 didn't have that, and idk if the wiring is the same...
