No No, Mark really dresses like that.
ooooh, he was in his special NON-pirate attire to go karting then. Mark, you gonna be wearing your normal attire on Sunday?

^^ I doubt it. You must have lucked out, I've never seen him not looking exactly like he did in that pic.

Oh and I'm official back in New England. Yes, I just got back at 5am :P had to make a pitstop to meet up with some Central NY mazda peeps and then took a 2 hour nap so that I wouldn't crash on the way back here haha.

omg the air is sooo nice here. I wish NY wasn't so bad :P

Be there for 715. Sounds good. Just don't wear that costume, but you can bring the parrot.

Forcast is still calling for rain. I can probably meet you guys at 7:15 too. I'll post tonight before I go to bed what my final plans are.

Wait I thought we were all going on Sunday? I'll be there tomorrow morning :)

doubt i will make it now... rain all day and i have a 3.25 or so hour commute each way just not worth it... have fun guys and i hope the rain doesn't ruin the day...

Yeah, I kinda wish we could have switched and all gone today...but I had stuff to do.

Mark, I'll see you tomorrow at 7:15 rain or shine. I guess we'll just have to make the best of it.

not as bad as a 7.5 hour commute each way :P

yeah I've already invested enough time into this, I gotta go :P

Wait.. crap I think the towel I put over my evo vent is probably totally soaked right now :'( at least the header/engine was cold when it got wet.

I need to think of a temporary rain guard solution ASAP

I'm thinking I might go black garbage bag with aluminium foil behind it. All behind the grille of course. The grille does get pretty hot but I think maybe the foil will help? hmm argh. I've had the hood for almost a month now (just not on the car) but I never thought about what I was going to do for a rain guard. I looked online a couple times but it doesn't seem like it's anything sold anywhere aside from the mitsu dealership.

never had any problem with mine in the rain and i only really used my rainguards the first summer i had the hood...

i have posted my rationale a few times before in other threads but it pretty much goes like this:

When you are driving no water gets in anyway because of the wind "bubble" that the bump in front of your vent causes. When I stop if im really paranoid, I will pop the hood and lay a towel across the engine where the vent is until I take off. But the reality is if your engine is really really hot like mine often is due to the turbo and its location, a drop of water hits it and immediatly vaporizes due to the heat, hard to imagine a single drop of water could have any effect on the metal (other than potentially rusting the surface) before it vaporizes. Then take a look at the grill itself and how small it is, and how much of its surface is covered by the mesh, its not even that large a surface area that is actually exposed to raindrops hitting it, so who knows how few are actually getting through to be vaporized.

The only time you might have cause for concern IMO is if you dumped a whole bucket of water into the vents while the engine was hot.....but then again I accidentally went through a touchless automatic car wash once with no rain guards in place and i had no problems. That was essentially like holding a garden hose over the vents for brief periods of time.
