Your Top 5 Mods that the Mazda2 needs?

What do you think are the top 5 mods that we need for the Mazda 2 right now?

My picks...

1. Brake Upgrades - Rather it be drilled and slotted rotors for the front, upgraded drums for the rear, or a kit that eliminates the rear drums we need to get some options for brakes because currently we have none in the U.S.

2. Forced Induction - We need a complete turbo or supercharger kit for the Mazda 2. The kit should come with everything you would need to install a turbo or supercharger, should be plug and play, and come with a complete tune included in the kit. (I'd prefer a supercharger for the 2)

3. Oil Coolers - Complete engine oil and transmission oil coolers specifically designed for the Mazda 2. None of that universal junk.

4. Upgraded Radiator - An all aluminum or stainless steal radiator that is larger than the stock for more cooling capacity is needed. Better cooling fans would also be a nice upgrade and could be sold as a kit with the new radiator.

5. Harness Bars - Their are currently no harness bars made for the Mazda 2. The only option we have if we want to install racing seats and a harness is to fabricate our own harness bars.

Hopefully the Mazda 2 community posts their thoughts in this thread and we can get the attention of some of the performance parts manufacturers/ developers.

So what are your Top 5 mods that the Mazda 2 needs?

EDIT: Perhaps people didn't understand what I was getting at with this thread but thats my fault for not explaining it. This thread is for people who need specifically designed parts for the Mazda2 that are not yet available on the market. Not necessiarly the Top 5 things you want to do to your 2.

Example... I want to install a supercharger kit on my Mazda2 but I can't because such a kit is not available in the U.S. at least a reasonable price.

1. short throw shifter
2. legal catted header
3. off the shelf ecu tune

Those are some really great mods that I forgot.

coming from a GTI, i am all about performance

however, i keep seeing people wanting brake upgrades. Are you really having your brakes fade? this car stops better then my 2008 gti could.

forced induction, i am all for. however, i think to my self " 3k tubrob on my 15k car?" thats a big amount of cash on a cheap car

oil coolers and radiator - again, is this a current issue? i can see the other stuff if you go forced induction, but before that, none of this other stuff is needed

Harness bar, YES. this car excess at handling, so a bar to support a harness would be great! i plan on replacing my driver seat as i just dont the the bostering this car needs in stock form, let alone after chassis improvements.

My needs would be

1. short throw shifter
2. legal catted header
3. off the shelf ecu tune

short shifter, urethane shift bushings
lightweight crank pulley
header with HFC
adjustable shocks with optional threaded sleeve kit
accessport-type ecu tuning (plug and play with various "off the shelf" maps and custom tune option)

In no particular order (this is to add on to what I already have):

- ECU tuning device
- Light Weight Acces. Pulley's
- Short shifter, or pivot bracket (like TWM bracket for the MS3's and such)
- Wheels (lighter, wider wheels and better tires than what I have)
- Shorter gearing (make up for lack of HP/Acceleration, with shorter gearing.. don't care about MPG)

I know we need some sort of an actual brake upgrade such as drilled and slotted rotors. The only thing offered right now for brakes are stainless steel brake lines form Good-win-racing and a handful of performance pads for the front and shoes for the rear. I do track day my Mazda 2 and the brakes are starting to get too hot on the track. Especially the front.

I would like to have some options in the various cooling departments. Oil coolers help extend the longevity of your engine and transmission especially under track conditions. And I have noticed my car starting to get a little too hot out on the track. A bigger radiator would fix this problem.

I can't believe I forgot about a legal catted header. We definitely need that!

I want a RWD swap kit! I guess I better get to work on that.

As I was reading that I was wtf for for number 2, alas I see 2 is actually a prerequisite for 3. If such a thing interests you. Haha

real center armrest console, two tone gauges, larger tach, modern stereo\ac dials\, bluetooth, door panels need lock\unlock and it needs to use the mazda3's plastic\pattern for dash and door panels.
Needs 30 more horsepower standard.

door panels need lock\unlock

Yes!! Having the lock control only in the center annoys me to no end. I'd much rather have the window control's in the center than the door locks. The only thing I can figure out is maybe someone on the interior design team has locked their keys in the car too many times.

It all comes down to saving weight, 1 switch and less wiring is a few lbs they can shave off and increase the fuel economy.

Then they should have been smarter and just stuck it at the center of the dash where you could easily reach the damn thing... ;-)

Yes...one of the reasons the 2 weighs less than the fiesta is they redesigned the wiring (to have less of it). Even the speaker magnets got "shrunkudid" to save weight. It was explained in a fifth gear review of the car when it 1st came out (demio) that you can find on youtube.

Yea, I forgot about the wiring reduction. In that regard, I'm proud to have a lightweight, performance oriented locking system.
