Hi, what is your other car/motorcycle tell us something about it. I think it is interesting to see what other interest in a car us CX-5 owners have people have.
If you do not have another car right now, what would a realistic second car be if you could fit in another payment (and why)?

I have an 03 Protege5 mt with some bolt-ons, short shifter, and MZ6 brake swap. Also an 06 MZ3 with a CAI, and speed3 springs and rear sway bar. I'd like to have a MZ6 wagon with a v6 and mt.

I would buy a 2 seater convertible sports-car like the Miata or BMW Z4. I would really like a Saturn Sky but they don't make them anymore but it doesn't matter because I can't justify a single HH with 2 cars! I went with the CX-5 because it was versatile and sporty and of course I got it in Red with the sunroof and upgraded stereo to add some playfulness.

Pretty much all the cars are family cars but I specifically drive....
2010 Honda Insight LX as a daily commute car which have 55k miles on it now. The Insight is slow... and only gets about 40mpg.

Also have.. 2002 Acura TL-S with 185k miles, 2000 Ford Windstar with 168k miles, and a 1999 Honda CR-V with 200k miles.
The Acura is starting to have harsh shifting with the 3rd gear, transmission was rebuilt once already. The Ford is sitting in front of the house. The Honda CR-V had it's head replaced.

The 2014 Mazda CX-5 is vacation/long distance car for now, but still about 8500 miles on it within a year.

I owned a long string of tricked out V8 American pony cars until the cost of gas made it uneconomical and global warming was clearly an issue with the 2007 IPCC report. Had high efficiency 4 bangers since then. When I could do without the utility of a CUV, I'd like to have a sporty light weight highly efficient sports car. On the crazy end, something like the Lotus Elise or Ariel Atom. More realistically, something like the Focus ST or 300hp V6 Mustang. Maybe when the 2.5L Skyactiv engine is tuned for the Miata? I miss my 1990 5.0 blown Mustang the most. (cryhard)

Other car possibilities

My favorite car of all time is the VW Vanagon, so I wouldn't mind finding another one of those, preferably the Westfalia camper. I still miss my old 5-speed BMW 525i (E34), and want one to complement my Mazda5 Sport 6MT. And for a plaything, Miata Is Always The Answer...

I have a 07 2wd f150 that gets used for truck stuff. It will be sold once my house sells and I'm moved in to a new place.

93 Toyota pickup that is build for offroad and is almost tolerable to drive more than a couple days in a row.

80 something 4 runner on 1 ton GM running gear that is big and not street legal at all sitting on a trailer that I can't currently tow. Lol.

I am also passively shopping for a motorcycle and possibly a jeep and/ or old muscle car.

I have a problem....

I used to have a P5, but that had to go to my sister when she needed a car. I sure do miss it. It did EVERYTHING other than off roading. Carried all my junk and friends. Pretty decent commuter and with some light suspension mods, it was pretty damn sporty and capable.

With the P5 gone, I got a Miata to autox, track and daily drive for a bit, but really missed the practicality of a hatchback. So I ended up buying a CX5 to compliment the Miata.
