2009 Mazda Mazdaspeed3
I'm about to get my '09 Mazda Speed3 in a few days and I was wondering if I should get the option of having the "Xzilon" coating for my car. Different dealerships offered me different coatings but I got the cheapest deal from the one I'm buying at. He knocked off the price from $999 to $525 after tons of haggling (>:3 haggling ftw). I was wondering how effective it is and if it's worth the $525 I'm gonna lose out on.

dont do it ... i used to work in the detail department at a hyundai dealership here in vegas and i did alot of those xzilon coatings ... its not worth what it costs ... the stuff doesnt really work that good ... i would rather go with a real good wax job when its needed

dont do it,as a detail enthusiast i know for fact those coatings are nothing more than a cheap paint synthetic sealant. There are superior paint sealants on the market that you can buy for around 40 dollars, and just apply them yourself. Youll get better results and save several hundered dollars.

Its just a way for dealerships to get more money from you. They buy the cheapest products, and give them a fancy name, and charge crazy amount for it.

They also say that they use it for the interior as well. It's used on the outside paint job and the interior seats, dash, and possibly floor-mats (not sure about the last one). I don't think I'll get it anymore but any words on what I can do about the interior to protect it and make it last? And any suggestions on what products to use instead of the Xzilon?

P.S.
I'm picking up my car tomorrow from the dealership >:3. '09 Black Mazdaspeed3 FTW!

Yeah the stuff they use on the interior is probably a scotchgaurd product to help prevent stains. Trust me it is not worth the money.

Check out the products from chemicalguys.com
They are pretty local to you (they have a showroom in inglewood)

One of my customers let me use jetseal 109 on his car (it was his bottle) and i liked. not as easy to apply as other sealants ive used, but came off and gave carnuba wax like results. (gave it a carnuba like glow)
its 40$ for 16oz i believe, but you use very very small amounts per use.
