that's crazy dubb. i just read your link to the problem! i'm glad i went ahead and tightened all of the screws on my mani when i ported and removed vtcs

i dont think anyone ever said it would be the ones in the middle of the mani, just the vtcs ones, but anyway glad to hear you found the problem
 
My 02 p5 intake mani has them too. I would suggest everyone to check theirs, pain in the ass I know, but better than risking the motor.
 
meh...... might do it. idk. im gana do a port and polish anyway so.....if i get up the courage. maybe
 
I suggest everyone who is worried read my post in Dub's other thread... it says that the defect in the intake mani was resolved BEFORE the 03's were manufactured. It also says the MSPs shouldn't have the problem cuz they use a different mani. That doesn't mean it couldn't happen in an 03 since they still have the vics/vtcs; it just means it should be unlikely.
 
Greg, you had skunk coils with stock struts and the car was slammed right? I'm just making sure it was just the mount that caused the issue.
 
greg...take the upper plenum of the p5 off and swap it with the one in your car...take off vtcs and port/polish, but keep the vics butterflies on (make sure to tighten them though)...the proteges lose a lot of low end torque without the vics butterflies...
