yea i know, i just wana get it behind the dash, out of the way.

i could do that our i had another idea. use one of those security lights on the collom and wire that up to be a shift light. but ide have to get one some were cause i dnt have one.

idk which one tho

drill a hole, make it out of the way. lol.

the security led is nice, but i hardly see mine in the daytime to begin with.

meh... idk. ill find 1 some were and try and dis mantle it. then wire the power line to another led. and wire that up somewere

Haha you set off an alarm!! I set one off on purpose last week in an undergorund parking lot. I parked beside this punk kid in his civic and set it off when I left :D

second video isnt workin :(

Just wait, I barely uploaded it.

Haha you set off an alarm!! I set one off on purpose last week in an undergorund parking lot. I parked beside this punk kid in his civic and set it off when I left :D

I was parked next to some pos accord and the driver thought it was tight at a local meet the other night and I had my bass going full blast and it kept setting off his generic alarm from 1992 but he kept turning it on. haha.

I like all this wiring talk.... :) If you got a switch from another Mazda that will fit in the slots like a fog light switch or a hazard switch that when you press it down it stays on you can do what I did to make it momentary (only on when you're pressing it down). I just took it apart and studied how it worked. I saw that it would grab a little notched area and that would cause it to stay on. I cut out the part where it grabbed and since it couldn't grab anything to stay on anymore it will only stay on while it's being pressed down.

And nice job on the swap Greg.

ya i figured out how to make the fog light switch be momentary, all you have to do is take a little piece out and if you ever wanted to be back to the way you started you can put it back in

That's exactly what I was thinking too. I figured there would just be a small tab that would hold the switch in, so it would close the circuit only when it's pushed all the way in. Remove that part, so the circuit to the starter is only closed when you hold the button in. When you let it go, it returns again.

I haven't seen the insides of the Protege fog switch but that sounds easy enough to do. The hazard switch I used I had to cut a part of the switch out.

little piece in middle comes out

Lmfao at the alarm. I was talking to one of the workers there and he thinks there exhaust is quiet. I was like WTF???

Greg when are you planning to tap the oil pan? I can show you exactly where NOT to tap it if you don't wanna spend some time cutting off a stupid ass bracket from your engine.

LOL, I did the exact same thing! wound up having to route the oil drain line around the downpipe into the oil pan rather than behind the downpipe cause it would have hit the downpipe and burned up the drain line lol....damn a/c compressor bracket with a random ass hook on the side of it...

sounds like your starter solenoid is bad then.

the solenoid is fine...he hooked up a ground wrong on the fusebox and it wasn't sending signal to the starter or alternator as a result...he just wants the push button start over the key now cause he liked my temp fix more after he drove it like that for a bit =P

(well, it was his godfather's idea, I just hooked it up that way cause I ran out of time to figure out why the starter wasn't firing over and it got his car running before I had to leave so I could make sure the mechanical side was a-okay before I left for norcal lol)

he just needs to hook the oem wiring harness starter connection back up to get the key working again

I'm cool with the push button, I barely fixed all the issues yesterday from the swap so no need to extended it any further. lol.

hehe, I just like to give you a hard time for your ricer push button since you don't need it anymore =P

lol, half ricer then =P

Well when i swaped my tranny in the talon i had to jump the starter with a bar until i figured how to re-wire the ignition start relay. (DSM is not plug and play by anymeans) LOL I did not drive it like that. I used it for trouble shooting. That is even more getto if i left it like that.
