my review:
i have only seen a few CF hoods in person before now so I dont really know what to expect. There are a few imperfections in it. If you look near the top of the hood there appear to be some small air bubbles in the clearcoat. Near my right headlight there is a small chip that appears to just be a chip in the clearcoat which may be from shipping (there was damage to that corner of the box). In one spot it appears there is a tiny spot of blue in the CF material (below the clearcoat) and when looking from a distance you notice a line which is an imperfection of sorts in the fabric that goes partially across the hood. When you look up close you cant really see it, but when you stand back it looks like a wrinkle kind of.
The the metal latch on the car is higher than the receiver on the hood is deep, so I needed to dremel away some fiberglass to allow the car's latch to go far enough itno the hood to close it completely. I called wings west and they said this little section around the latch on the hood should have been cut out before it was shipped. They offered no help other than telling me i could dremel it out and that they will make sure it is removedona ll new shipping hoods.
All in all I like it a lot. Think it looks really badass, cant wait to get my lip and grill on too, not to mention springs and rims. MY friend has been trying to convince me not to paint it since it looks so cool, but depending on how noticable the imperfections are after I clean it up a bit, I might want to paint it anyways......
quality-wise I was expecting perfect CF on my lip and hood but seeing as how my lip has places you can see right through the CF, im pretty happy with the hood....
looks-wise I think the evo hood is the best thing to happen to the protege since Spicy Orange paint.
