looks like false alarm/hoax
apparently this lady (probably some redneck from GA)
overheard a conversation at a Shoney's restaurant, amongst 3 young men (all of which are US citizens, 2 naturalized and 1 native) of Mid East descent talking and laughing about 9/11. the lady alleged that they said something about "bringing it down" in Miami. She said she got scared, so she and her son followed them and wrote down their plate # and car make & model and called the authorities. All along her son keeps telling her they're just "messing with her."
they were stopped on a highway in FL, and has been detained there for over 12 hours while the FBI searches the cars. So far everything looks normal.
I mean, would any REAL terrorists OPENLY and LOUDLY ridicule 9/11 and talk about their next attack, with full knowledge there are people next to them, in a restaurant???? think about it, just doesn't make sense....

Well.....in this day and time....I would much rather a few people get inconvineced, detained, whatever.....than to have someone blow it off....and end up having another 3000 innocents meet their ends like those in NYC. Excuse me.....but even joking about such matters in public is just asking to be arrested. Its just the nature of our current socity.
something happened very similar here yesterday.....a plane took off from Houston for Dallas.....one of the passangers had a folding COMB....a flight attendant mistook it for a weapon....the passanger was being somewhat baligerant (,<- -5 for spelling) and the plane was turned around....landed in Houston..FBI and local authorities boarded the plane with weapons drawn, and the guy was arrested and removed from the plane. MUCH better safe than sorry......at least that is MY opinion.

MP5s Make Ready, That is awfully harsh to call them what you did and find it offensive. I think we need to be very cautious, but stereotyping and calling them names is wrong. There are many muslims in this country and we should respect them. It just infuriates me when people do stupid s*** to people just because they are the same nationality or religion as someone who is "the bad apple".
now now children play nice.... we live in a multicutural society, say it with me M-U-L-T-I- - C-U-L-T-U-R-A-L. we have to learn to live with each other in harmonie!!!!!!

These smarty pant politicians and other naive people will learn soon enough. The only way we will be truely safe is to not have any of "them" here at all. The people that say otherwise will be the one's that we'll have to cleaning off the pavement when they get blown to bits by all the car bombs and airplanes and anthrax attacks because they believe these towel-heads are innocent until proven guilty. When it comes to MY LIFE and MY COUNTRY I say that these "people" (using that term loosely) should have to prove their innocents and if not DEPORT THEM DAMMIT!!! No more MR. NICE COUNTRY....I'm tired of getting attack by damn ALA cowards that are freaking jealous of my running water and electricity....they'd rather fight about stupid religion.
Thank god for freedom of speech....I can use raghead as much as I want....god I'd love to ring their necks with their damn bed sheets that they wear.........ok ok i'll try to calm down

I personally would like to clarify something as far as I am concerned.....I don't have anything against "THEM" as you put it....I have something against people that are ANTI-AMERICAN....anti-freedom.

if you will look back in history.....OUR country is a melting pot of all the cultures of the world that were oppressed that wished not to be.....OUR forefathers were revolutionairies......outlaws in their own right....BUT.....were on the side of RIGHT. We have had japanese decentants go to war WITH US against their mother country....we have had people of German decent go to war against hitler WITH US.....many examples of this though out our history.

i agree with sir nuke. better safe than sorry. those guys thought it was funny to make a joke out of 9/11, i am sure they don't think so after they have been arrested. they have a stollen tag too. if you have a stolen tag, you are a criminal. feed them to the alligators.

We do not know one damn thing of what happened. Woman says one thing, muslim guys say another. The correct decision ought to be to thank the woman for being honest, the cops for being responsive although somewhat overzealous (700 cops), apologise to the men arrested, and go on with life.
Calling the woman "racist xenophobe white trailer trash" or the muslims "sand ni***r ragheads" goes against everything your country is supposed to stand for. Freedom. The "American" way.
Here's the flip side of the "shoot first ask questions later" stance. Are you willing to sacrifice the rights and freedoms of the few for the potential (not absolute) security of the many? Yes--okay, how few? 3... 30? 300? At what point does holding people without real proof cease to be "American"? Who decides? 3000? 3 million? What if you are one of them?
