WTB: trunk spring rod?

i have a sedan which did not come with a wing and i put an mp3 wing on it.....b/c of the weight of the wing my trunk is SLAMMING down when i let go of it about 6 inches from the latch....i was looking what supported it and its two rods that run parallel to the back glass. do mp3/msp's have strong rods or how is changed to support the weight? if they are different i want to buy some!

any spring that was designed for a spoiler will work, just fyi

well its not really a spring..i just didnt know what to call it and it acts like a spring but maybe any rod ment for that will work? ill check into it! thanks!
