'02 Mazda Protege ES
I'm still trying to find a nice 5 speed manual Protege ES. Anyone out there selling? Buehler?...Buehler?

I'm looking for an '01 or newer, preferrebly with less than 75k miles. Good brakes, good tires, no issues, ready to roll.

If anyone's selling, please give me a shout. I might be willing to travel for the right car.

u try autotrader.com? they have a few on there. i think there was one for sale earlier in GA (quite moded as well)
look in the for sale section here and clubprotege.com, could posibly find one

Yep, been there, done that. I don't think I've left a stone unturned..autotrader, cars.com, autoextra, automart...clubprotege, msprotege...etc,etc.. I'm pretty specific about having a manual ES, '01 or later...less mods the better. Everything I find is either an automatic, a P5, or pre-2001...or out of my price range. I need to stay below 9k..and even that's pushing it. The few times I've come close to buying, something has happened to make to deal fall through. (pissed)

hopefully I wont screw myself over, but I think you said you're willing to travel, if thats the case check cars.com with zip code 19154, thats here in philly. I've seen 2-3 that I'm looking to make a trade for my automatic right now. Maybe you'll like one or something.

Also look for Protege MP3s. They are upgraded 2001 ES Proteges, always manual, and usually go for under 8K.

I almost went for an MP3, but I like the ES as more of a complete package. I want cruise control, sunroof, and at least the potential of finding one with ABS. Those aren't even options with the MP3. As far as I know, most people use premium gas for their MP3s...I'm not going down that road.

Thanks for the tip...I'll check that out. If you've got a bead on one, let me know. I don't want to step on your toes. My only hesitation with buying one from up north is winter roads and all that salt. I'm from Jersey so I know what that can do to a car if it's not kept clean. I was about to fly up to that area for a nice ES that I know was garaged during winters. Unfortunately that fell through, at least for now.
