wrx sti...trade worth it ?

so let me get this straight. Your want awd and you live in jersey where roads are covered by snow about 10 out of 365 days. You also want it so bad that you are willing to pay an extra 12 grand for it? Not the mention insurance being higher? Lol go do it then, to me it doesnt sound like its worth it.

ding ding ding, you're correct ! :)

Snows in nj varies, sumtimes, it snows more than 10 days, it also rains a couple times. I just wanted to try sumting different, i have friends with evos and sti's, and they are a blast to drive.I'm not saying that ms3 is not a blast to drive, i just wanted to try sumting different. Where i can get traction on any circumstances ;).

On the plus side, if i get lucky refinancing my house next year, i might be able to keep the ms3, and have my wife drive the sti :)!!!!

STi wont be 330hp more like 310...still this is something to consider. Its said to be better than the EVOs now in the handling department which is a big step for the subi, but car and driver didnt really care for it. I dunno its a very hard decision it WILL top out near 40 large thats nearly twice the sticker for the MS3...all in all if its affordable then dude STi all the way just think of that flat four growl that you'll get that noise alone sells me.

also all the pics ive seen of the STi has it with quad exhaust out the back very BMW M series like. Its gonna kill EVO X in a head to head i think, the X is slower than the previous EVOs and more expensive and heavier while the new STi is lighter and faster than the old ones But it does still use the same motor from the old ones just slight differences to gain the 10 or so extra horses, probably in valve timing since i know it wasnt bored or in boost management, maybe computer enhancements.

All in all if you can afford it im sure you wont be sad when its sitting in your driveway...oh an IMO it looks killer.

what!?!?!?!?!?!

Where did you get this info? The STi stock has consistantly beat the EVO at Tsukuba :)

EVO / STI
2006 1:05:07 / 1:04:72
2005 1:04.88 / 1:04:17
2003 1:05:30 / 1:04:69
2001 1:05:17 / 1:06:56
1998 1:04:69 / 1:06:73
1996 1:07:00 / 1:05:92
1994 1:06:52 / 1:06:26
1992 1:10:90 / 1:07:99

Plus....

the new STi is heavier, in fact it is heavier then my Suby wagon

3373 lbs. for the STI (with optional lighter BBS wheels)

3355 lbs. for the 05 LGT MT wagon non-limited (with pretty porky stock wheels, 45 lbs. a piece).

with or without tires?

evo x GSR has a 5 speed and the 5 speeds on the evos are actually better built tougher. The new MR has the DSG and it hasnt really been tested to my knowledge, the VIII and IX on the MRs are not good for 400 hp and 400lb-ft I know a guy with a VIII MR and when he modded it it tore almost al the teeth off the sixth gear, hes a professonal tuner on the evos too so he knows what hes doing. The STI is 6 speed.

Honestly they both look great drive great and are a lot of fun. Good luck choosing if you get the chance.

Super Street tested it in DSG.....

Not to shaby, my STi is 3,263lbs, a 06 MS3 with a GT package is 3180 lb.

Not too bad :)

and it ran a stock 13.3 1/4mile damn!!

well keep in mind thats with an extreamly good driver in perfect driving conditions. My 04 scooby is said to run 13.29 sec in a 1/4 mile STOCK. I haven't came close... closes i've got was 13.7 at 90F and 100% humidity. Now have I seen it done? Yes, on streetfire.net a stock STi ran 13.1 with perfect reaction time and nice weather.

Oh btw.. nice Avitar (boobs)

ahh super street tested it that explains why i dont know about it since i dont really like that mag. what did they say about it? honestly i love the new evo styling and finally IMO subaru has come out with somthing thats handsom instead of fugly (though i think that the scoobies look better than the outgoing evos...to much lancer in it for me to like) if those times for the qt mi are correct the subi is faster now than the evo, good for them.

I only read it like really quick when I was @ Barnes & noble waiting for the GF to get a book

The most I remember reading is that they compared the Evo X to an Evo 9 (drove them both back to back)....... they said the Evo 9 is more fun to drive....... but the Evo X is easier to drive FASTER (than the evo 9)

Wasn't the STI always faster stock for stock? I thought the Evo was faster around the track and through the slalom, but the STI was always faster in the 1/4 ??

i just watched it.......... man if I were to choose between buying one of those cars....... I'd go with the Shelby hands down....... its simply the matter of having a more unique car. you're liable to see a lot more STIs on the road than you will a Shelby...... to date I've only seen 2 Shelbys and that was in Florida and the other in Tennessee

I would personally take the subie, only mustang I'd take is the GT500 or the Saleen..

same here, except I dont like the look of the new model Saleens. it would have to be a previous model Saleen or the new Shelby GT500.... those are the only mustangs I'd really like. Though I have to admit I would be hard pressed to turn down an 03-04 Mustang Cobra
