Would you trade a 2013 Sport for a 2012 Touring

So a few weeks ago I got a Mazda Sport however I am shooting myself on the foot for not getting the Touring. I currently have only 500 miles on my 2013 and the Touring would be a used 2012 with 10k miles. Is it worth it??

I'd say no, because 10,000 km for me is like a year's worth of driving, so it wouldn't be worth the > couple grand worth of add ons.

Yeah, not sure I'd make that trade either. If you could find a dealer with a new 2012 that they're trying to clear out, and could afford to drop a couple more thousand on the trade, then that might be worth it.

As much as I love my touring, I would say keep the '13 sport. The USB audio and lower miles are reason enough to keep it. Take the extra money you would end up spending on the trade and get some touring or aftermarket wheels ($500), a touring style spoiler($125), touring tweeters($75), and whatever else you would like to have.

^This sounds like very solid advice. Realistically, the wheel is probably the largest difference between the two (seats are negligible) and that can be remedied with an aftermarket wrap of some sort.

I'd also throw in the steering wheel. The touring wheel felt better to grip than the sport by opinion which is why me and probably a few others on here plunked down extra to have it.

What does a Tweeter do?

But changing the Steering Wheel on a Sport and replacing it with a Touring is not possible correct?

Tweeters are responsible for higher frequencies (think female voice and higher) in sound reproduction. The money is better spent on a system with a true crossover to the tweeter. If you're happy with your radio, then be happy with it. If not, there are a lot of aftermarket things you can do to improve your radio.

Very possible. This is the one and only reason I considered the touring (i also bought a 2013 sport). Talk to your dealer - buy the parts from them, have them tell your ecu it's a touring model, and everything works that you have a display for (cruise control, and audio, i believe, not sure if you get ambient and mpg).

If you want ambient air temp & mpg, buy a bluetooth ODBII connector ($20) and pay $5 for torque for android, and have all the readouts you've never wanted.

I guess the a good question would be, what do you like about the touring model? I recently bought a 2013 sport. After comparing the models not really much different.

This....by the time you upgrade these items you've saved money and still have a low mileage car.

Has anyone ever successfully replaced a steering wheel?

I think Andy Hollis was working on a Touring steering wheel swap if I recall correctly...

I think I saw another thread where some bloke attempted to change the wheel on his sport model. Turns out when you buy the touring wheel, buy it with the fun bag(airbag) as well. He found out the hard way that the sport's fun bag didn't fit on the touring wheel and needed to have bits of it around the spokes shaved off or something along those lines.

Hollis is working on it :

It's a direct swap, if you have all the parts, and get a dealer to reconfigure your car. Parts :
