Wooo i LOVE Mazdaspeed!

Getting an '03 as soon as possible, only because i hate the look of that wing/front wing on the 3.5!

dealer is giving me a little less than invoice price for the black mica 03, only because they are trying to get rid of it and make room, lol.

here is the thing, should i trade in my mercedes benz c230 coupe with only 8k miles and have no sales tax on the mazdaspeed, or try selling the c230 on my own? ive been trying to sell that sucker yet no one wants it, ugh!

the sooner i get the mazdaspeed the better =p

The C230 coupe's aren't selling too hotly, especially in the used car market. You'll likely have to take a big hit on depreciation.
Personally I'd modify the C230. I've seen some with tasteful bodykits, lowered, rims, etc. - they look nice. A few performance parts and they are quite quick.

Holy crap man, I'll trade you my speed for the kompressor! You are nuts, I mean, the MSP is great car but the c230 is awesome.

:0

obviously i want compensation for the difference in value =p

im hoping to get around 25k-26k from the dealer, pay between 18.5k and 19.5k for the mazdaspeed and not need to pay as much sales tax since it was a dealer swap.

out of this i would get around 5-6k back too. the only reason i am selling is i am going to college soon and parents want a more economical/less risk car. I really feel they are overreacting about the whole situation, no one will key a c230 anyway..but yeah i dont really care, mazdaspeed is awesome anyway so i would be happy to make the trade!

For those of you looking at 2003's so close to the complete release and flooding of 2003.5's you really should have a good bit of room to bargain down. I would start at 1k under invoice as your max price. If they don't offer it just watch how the 2003's sit around when the 3.5's hit the showroom.

3.5s are already hitting and i have seen them make the 2003s sell better, only b/c people see... compare.... and make the smart choice: 2003 that is.

Maybe true on occassion but buyers typically buying a "new" car want just that. Even thought the appearance package to many of us is more appealing on the 2003 I think most people given the option will take the newer model year IMO

Are the only changes the rear spoiler and front spoiler? I wonder how hard it would be to still find a Spicy Orange.

There are threads upon threads of information about the differences. After seeing the 2003.5 in person, the wing is a bit big IMO and it's not fastened as securely as the 2003 wing. Then again, you're only supporting the wing at two places on the .5 compared to three on the 2003. The shift knob is a lot larger, which could be good and could be bad, depending on your hand size. For me, the original Sparco one fits better.

Blah someone's calling, I'll finish later.

Excellent. Thanks for the info guys. I will do a search on the differences. The best thing may to be to just call around and find a dealer that has both and compare for myself.
