Seems all may not be happy in hypertech land
I have denso 22's in and this is a log I recorded a few days ago

I'd love to get some input from knowledgable sources.

Also how long have you had the tune?? I know it takes a few day+miles for the ECU to learn the new map.. Should take it easy for a few days..

From what I've read, they tuned their car using the stock plugs. You should check the gap on yours.

Hey Bro,

I too have asked the same question to CHRIS but haven't seen a reply, worst comes case I'll just buzz them.

you're worrying about 1.75 degrees of timing pull for a teeny fraction of a second here, right at the 5000 rpm point these cars seem to like to knock at, from the looks of it. It goes away, almost immediately and isn't constantly present at high rpms.

If you see knock retard holding at high rpm and getting worse as load increases, that's a cause for concern. Granted we'd all like to see no KR but, a touch here and there is just the motor looking after itself. It's consistent, unrelenting KR that suggests big trouble in the combustion chamber and possible doom.

You are correct DV, I'm so glad I'm still at a big fat zero with KR, even with NO AP and 1 step colder plugs.

You datalog that? cuz this car, shoots little doses of KR out at light throttle all the time, and also around the 5k common knock point I mentioned before. Not always heavy but, pretty regular. It's trying to optimise timing all the time and you can't optimise if you don't know how close to K you actually are. ECUs have shytloads of processing power today so, lots available for this kind of tweaking.

Did you ever receive a reply from CHRIS? I got my reply on running with 1 step colder plugs, thus he handed the ball back and said we tune with stock heat range plugs. so....
