Hi guys,
I tried to put my wheels back but when I tried to take my winter wheels out, it got rusted in the center so I couldn't get it out.. Any ideas of what I should do? I bought my winter package from tireracks. It's a Pilot Alpin. please help.

Lol didn't even notice this in this area, I had posted the exact same answer as ezrider1026 in the general forum.

WD-40 is a a lubricating spray that's great for breaking up rust. People often use it when working on old cars that may have rusted bolts etc. I think without WD-40 and duct tape a guy's garage is just not complete. :D

Hehe I know from experience...I had to use a can of the stuff on my bad 86 Ford Escort when I blew my engine!

Am I reading this right? Maryland, in America, right? Are you male? How long have you lived in the US? Are you a commie? (J/K)If so, please tell me at least the duct tape thing didn't baffle you. Man, I think I need a beer just to make sure I'm not going nuts here. "Bartender, give this man a Jack-and-Coke. He needs to know how a real man lives."
An American male that doesn't know WD40. That's a new one on me. "Us here rednecks couldn't live without that there crap, and duct tape c'n fix anythin' ya gots. No kiddin'" :D
What is WD40. damn that's a good one.

cjstringer , does making fun of other people really make you feel better? If that's what you mean by being a man, then I guess I'll never become a man like you.
I don't know anything about cars and yes, I came to this this country 3 years ago. That's why I ask questions on this forum.
By the way, thanks to BigBlue and ezrider1026

Ok, you came to the country 3 years ago. That was a big part of my point. I even made fun of MYSELF. (did you miss the redneck part?) WD40 is a fool-proof, err, fool-ful, err, typical fix-all for anything we usually can't find anything else use on something that's messed up. (did that come out right? Probably not. Oh well.)
Ok, back to the issue. I was being a smartass. Sarcasm. Sorry if I offended you.
Oh hell. Check the sig and get back to me if you believe this is a worthwhile issue. Didn't mean to piss anyone off.

Don't worry about cj, yellowmp3...I really think he was just trying having a little fun and no offense was intended. Basically if you grow up in Canada or the US and are around cars at all, you'll quickly find that WD-40 almost is legendary for it's ability to help in a situation just like yours. Go to your local automotive store(is it Pep Boys down in the states, here I know it's Canadian Tire) and just ask where it is and they'll help you out no problem.

Ok, yellow, sorry man. Just playin.
Blue, thanks. Damn, I really gotta kill these voices in my head. :)
Later buds. I'll post at ya manana.

Adios!

Hey yellow, two other products to try are PB Blaster and Liquid Wrench. I have used both on rusted bolts and they work better than WD-40. WD-40 will work too. One tip I learned that works is to hit the bolts, or in your case the wheel with a hammer. This sets a vibration and helps to let the fluid rin between the 2 parts. Now before you make fun of this, the can of liquid wrench said to do this and being a know it all I just sprayed it and wound up breaking the bolt anyways. I tried reading the instructions the next time I used it and darn if it didn't work. If it still will not come off, you can try heating the wheel with a PROPANE torch a little around the hub. Don't get it too hot or the grease may thin out and run out of the bearing but a little heat may expand the wheel enough to help it break loose. I'm leaving my winters on till at least the middle of march, we have had no snow here and are way over due. My luck I'd get stuck at work and we would get 2 feet. Good luck...I will be having the same problems in a few weeks.

just spray some wd40 or penetrant lube and if that dosent work kick the top of the tire and it should come off. jsut make sure you catch it....
thats what we do at discount tire...

YellowMP3, being in Maryland there will be a Checker, Shucks, or Kragen auto parts store. If you need more help these stors are right up your alley. The staff should be friendly enough to help you with any questions. Of course all of us will help ya also.
