Winter Floor Mats

Well, the snow finally came, 20" and counting. With kids and all, I really need some good winter floor mats to catch the snow, ice, salt, dirt, etc. Seems the rear seat ones are a bit tricky, not much room for mats, in fact, most (I have some from another vehicle) have to be positioned sideways to fit between the rear seat and back of the front seats. Any suggestions would be most appreciated, given the holidays, it would be nice to know what works best without the typical trial & error process. Thanks.

I negotiated for free all-weather mats from Mazda when I bought the car. They work and fit swell.

I got the factory all-weather mats and am not particularly impressed with them. They're pretty much a "hard" rubber and don't hold much water or dirt. I would rather have Weathertech mats (which I've had for other vehicles, much more flexible and hold quite a bit), but they're not available yet.

So, if you absolutely need something now, go with factory. Otherwise, I'd wait until the third party folks bring out something.

factory mats

My wife got me a set of all-season mats as an early Christmas present. Their nice but don't feel like they'll hold up long-term as well as some of the better after-market ones I've had. I needed them, though, after 2700 miles my standard mats were already suffering from all the mud and gravel I'm constantly dragging in.
