Also is it true that Mazda's windshields are thinner/weaker than aftermarket?

I'm on my 4th windshield.. 3 replacements ftl. Sad thing is.. I have a small crack in my 4th one now..
Make sure they prime and paint around the edges when they replace it.. I found out mine wasn't done and is starting to rust underneath the glass.

Man that sucks, was it not sealed right or what?

the rust happened because when they took the windshield out the first 2 times, they didn't prime/paint where they cut it out with the big razor blade..

the first 2 were done at the dealership under warranty.. they contracted it out.. thing is, I just have to wait for the rust to start showing before they'll do anything..

Well I called a place here Auto Glass Specialists and they will do it for $140(labor,windshield, and molding(if needed)) with a Lifetime warranty.

The rep told me they use the same glass that Safelite uses.

If by OEM you mean getting it done at the dealer, my dealership didn't do them... they contracted it out to a glass/windshield place to do the job.. the 3rd one I did (not warranty) so I took it to a local guy. He was soo nice.. let me come in and watch and snap some pics. He was the one that showed me the work done the first couple of times wasn't done properly.

Mine just cracked this weekend. Tripled in size in a few days. Came out of no where. Upon inspection, i found a spot where it looks like a rock hit under the passenger wiper. It's spread from there. I just got the car two months ago...
