windshield.. yet again..

i have a small chip and a fair size crack but i did take a good size rock to the windshield. but i have had the car for 5.5 years now and 88k miles later i guess it is to be expected that you get hit by a good rock sometime. so no complaints about the windshield here. now, the yellow paint .... that's a different thread :)

I have a number of stone chips in my windshield, but it wasn't until this big rock hit below the wiper blade that it actually cracked. I have 96k miles on my car.

Some people like/drive Mazda and Subaru, and love both :)

the only time my windshield cracked was from a big rock falling off a truck in front of me while I was trying to merge onto the highway. It clipped the edge of the windshield and put a scratch (fixed) on the a-pillar. It hit the edge of the glass, so it wasn't in view (was on the black part), but then yeah it cracked.

The Pilkington glass has been fine though :)

Though dog help me the day that Subaru comes out w/ an AWD convertible...

Maybe 1 rock chip, but no cracks at 58K miles. :)

well I have a lovely approx 2 foot crack starting one the passenger side near the bottom of the windshield and trickling up and across into my vision area..getting it replaced this week because she's due for her MVI..I'm going through my insurance and I just have to pay my $100 deductable and I'm good to go...I'm getting mine done at speedy glass.

That's bad that you've had so many problems...do you have to pay anything?

The P5 is great for short trips and bopping around town, but it kind of stinks for long highway trips. Too loud, too bumpy - we get really tired of yelling to be heard. On the other hand, the Legacy Wagon is a bit of a whale in town but is great for highway trips. It's a bit bigger than the P5, and it's much quieter and much smoother on the highway. The only place the P5 beats it is in mpg, and even then that is only by 2 mpg in sustained highway cruising.

The only place is mpg? try handling :)

2mpg? Dayum, I get 36mpg on the highway all day long at nearly 80k miles on the clock, with my mods! If the subie gets 34 that's pretty awesome :)

If the Mazda is too loud or too bumpy for you, you chose the wrong car brand. That's something people like Consumer Reports loves to complain about with all Mazdas. Sorry if Mazda makes cars for people who don't want the numbness of a Corolla all day long. The loudness is only an issue if you have an exhaust, stock the P5 is very quiet (remember though, it's a compact car.. it's not going to be like a cadillac DTS at speed haha).

mine wasn't loud until I put the p5 sport exhaust on it.. it drones a bit at 80 mph.. but I like it that way :)
