Window Visors

Be careful with the bra. Supposedly dirt gets under there and can harm the paint. It it rains and gets wet underneath it can mildew, etc and paint can fade unevenly. I decided against it even tho the 5 looks tough with one. That's why the bug deflector is a possiblity-it doesn't harm the car.

I'm thinking about only running the bra on weekend drives when the wife and I get out for extended drives and leaving it off the rest of the time...Oh and definitely throw it on for meets and shows :D

My window visors should be on their way now...I can't wait to get them so I can get my baby washed and waxed again and take some new pics :D

I put the hood deflector on last week.. it was a breeze to put on and is of really good quality, better than the Focus one I had and cheaper !!!
I got it for $63.00 and I checked the price on one for my wifes car ( 2000 civic) and the Honda one was $125.00 YIKES !
PS - the black on black look , looks real cool !

Anthony, is there any way you could post a couple of up close pics so I can compare what I received to yours???

My visors are a sort of blue-ish tinted plexi glass and the fit is questionable...I know they are a kind of home-fabricated product and are very well done especially for the price...However, there isn't any adhesive on the front corners of the front driver and passenger window visors...Also, once held in place, there is about two inches of each door jam that isn't covered by the visors...

Are your visors the same as mine??? The shade of the tint I can deal with because my regular window tint and the black vinyl on the doors block the blue-ish tone, but I was honestly expecting smoked black/gray plexi glass...

If you could let me know how yours are set up that would be awesome...I'd love to know for sure before I contact the seller about them possibly being the wrong thing...

Dan,
I don't have any close up photos of the visor installation other than the ones I've already posted. I'll take a couple shots oday and post them up tomorrow.
I didn't have any problems with the fit of my visors; like you the front corner piece didn't have any double sided tape, but this was just a short piece of the visor and doesn't really make a difference.
I'm a bit surprised about the gap you have. Mine aligned perfectly with the door frame and there wasn't any gap.
Give me a day and I'll post the images for you.
Regards,
Anthony

Window Visors and Door Frame Alignment

Here's an image that shows how the visors align with the door frames......
The alignment is not the best, however from a distance it's good enough for me......As the saying goes.....Good from far but far from good...However, for the price you can't beat them....I'm very satisfied with the alignment.
Regards,
Anthony

Thanks so much for posting the pics Anthony :D The allignment on yours look just fine...I wish mine lined up like that...If I place them at the corners of the front windows where they are supposed to be, there is about 1-2 inches of space left behind the visor...So basically, there is a gap between the front and rear visors where they would meet between the front and sliding door jams...

How about the color in the plastic of yours??? Is it a smoked dark blu-ish tint, or smoked black/gray???

Thanks again yous are looking sweet!!!

Anthony, how about a few more pics, more angles, pull backs, etc? How hard are they to remove once on? If you were to say, place the visor crooked, could you remove it to reposition or is the adhesive not workable?

7red7- Did you order from the same mazda guy as Anthony?

Yes I did...I got the recommendation from him actually...I'm not mad at all though about the situation...I honestly think I may have been sent the wrong visors by mistake...These things happen sometimes in aftermarket accessories...I don't have a basis for comparison, but I think I might have accidentally received visors for a Mazda 3 or MPV...

I'll put up some pics tomorrow (as it's dark out right now) to show you how they look when I do a mock install to test the fit and placement :D

Visors

Dan,
I'm sorry to hear that you got the incorrect parts delivered.
I'm sure if you contact Anthony (i.e., the other Anthony) he'll be able to sort this matter out. I've purchased many items from him so I can vouch for his creditability.
As far as the tape goes, it's a 3M double sided adhesive so I'm thinking it'll hold. I did a dry fit before applying, and quite frankly, it's an easy item to apply; just get it right the first time.
Let me know if things work out getting these items exchanged.
The visors I got were a dark smoke color.
Regards,
Anthony

Guys,
I also ordered them from the guy on the MPV site. Mine did fit okay and are
the bluish coloured ones. The alignment seemed fine and I will post pics as well...
Thanks,
Medicman

Just got visors too. Bought them on eBay from seller hk-plus (based in Hong Kong). Price was $9.99 (shipping was $38.00). The visors are good quality, very sturdy. Shipping took about 10 days. The visors just stick to the outside (not those in-channel type). It looks like it holds very well. It held up in the car wash.

Much thanks to Anthony for the PM info suggestion, I just sent him a PM for these as well :)

3M has always been quality so I trust their reliability long term once they are applied on the car...

Also, the black material on our door jams isn't painted on, it's black vinyl tape...There is factory pain underneath it, and if you ever wanted to, you could remove it and expose it for more color on the sides of your car...The paint under it is clearcoated and all...Check out the link in my sig, you can see where I did this to my old Scion xB :)

hmmm im now curious as to how my 5 would look without the "tape"

im sorry, im confused. What do the window visors actually do other than look like an accessory from the 1980's. Do they reduce cabin noise? Do they block the sun?

Sorry, im really just teasing you guys. On a serious note i really need to be schooled and do kinda want to know what they do.

PS. Lets bring back those crazy colored double wiper blades.

They allow you to smoke in the rain and not get wet.
You can keep your windows open an inch or so and still keep rain out.

btw...those wipers would be the shizz if they had those fins/wings on them. lol

Stick to the outside how? With 3m double sided tape?

Well, it's not just for smoking...could have used some on the girlie's car today. It's in the mid 30s & raining today. The windows were fogging up and the defrost couldn't keep up, if we had vent visors on her car we could have cracked the windows to unfog the glass and kept dry.

Yes, the visor came with a 3m double sided tape (already taped on the inside). To install, I just peeled it off and stuck it to the outside.
