Yeah, I just installed it and so far so good. Runs much quicker than the old version and supports CD ripping to MP3 and AAC by default now. You can also control the opacity which is very cool. So far no probs......loaded up my library and got the Hatebreed blastin'.

whoa, another pet peeve of mine they fixed in 5.0 is that the songs for an individual album in the media library are now sorted by track # by default instead of alphabetically. On the old version I had to choose "options" and sort by track # every time and it was a pain. I like them to play in the same order that they do when I listen to the CD's in the car.

I just found something else pretty cool.......you can set the opacity to like 30% and then set the option that makes it "opaque on hover" so when you put your mouse over it comes back to full color.......good for use at work :)

I have the Winamp 5 beta, and it still had the winamp library bug of the old one for me. Hmmm... I never really tried to resolve it though.

I uninstalled all my old Winamp version first and deleted all the leftover folders.......looks like they fixed that library bug in the production version......been using it all day so far and no probs.

OKay...
I tried WinAmp 5.0 for a couple days and finally got sick of my PC locking up.
Removed and have been running iTunes again with no problems.
I don't know what it is with the Llama toting people at nullsoft but they will never get this software to function properly in my eyes.

I've been running version 5.0 all week so far and I'm loving it. No probs at all and I've played mp3's, vids, and Shoutcast streams. It's much less of a resource hog that the old versions. I'm running Windows 2k pro with Service Pack 4 on a Thinkpad T40 with a 1.5ghz and 512megs of ram.
