Will this cheap turbo work?

It's a c.x. racing and my stock msp turbo is burning the oil that's making its way into it and I'm just wondering if this will work til I get save up for a garrett

Any suggestions would be awesome too!

Yes, you can make it work without too much issue, but you'd be better off going with a used OE turbo in my opinion. I am currently in the middle of replacing the second GT25. I've been trying to determine which route I'd like to take- legitimate ball bearing turbo or a cheap turbo. The difference is $700-1000. I have decided, I believe to go with this turbo: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VERSION-2-G...Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d25aeb717&vxp=mtr

Not saying that turbo is any better than the one you posted, or any poorer quality, but looking at "cost effective" turbos, this looks to be the best option for myself. I'm also built and maxing out my GT25, which is why I keep killing them.

I'd recommend finding a good condition, used OE GT25 instead of that one.

You'll need a bigger intake for the one he linked you, that's a T28 replica and they have much bigger intake flanges. The stock manifold and down pipe should be fine though. And apparently you'll need to modify your oil drain line (according to the eBay post).

But because it's a bigger turbo, be careful with boost if you decide to go that route.. that comes with a WGA set to 14 psi, and you'll probably want to dial that down into the 5-6 range.

Would definitely rather find a used oe turbo. Is the one you have linked bolt onto the stock header and piping?

There are currently two, I believe, posted in the FS section

I'm also not recommending you buy the one I am purchasing and throw it on your stock MSP at 14psi as well as the fact boost will come on differently, ultimately resulting in a zoom-zoom-boom scenario.

Oh yeah absolutely. Just trying to get her running properly again. This whole turbo thing is all new to me. I just bought the msp. My daily is actually an 02 spec v

Ok so this emusa which I believe is an ebay turbo but have read reviews and it's good for being an inexpensive as it is. Its on speedyracer.com and a gt28. Any suggestions or info? Plus I'll need an oil restrictor and where to find one?

cheap turbos can be pennywise pound foolish. the bearings CAN get loose in no time, and subsequently if the turbine hits the housing you CAN chip a fin and have it end up in your engine. neither are a problem with OEM unless you're really ignoring obvious issues.
