Will Knock-off sleeve style coilovers for Older protege fit Protege5?

Got a question for you protege suspension experts:

i'm looking for a cheap drop just to get the car lower asap cause i hate driving a 4x4 but here's the thing, i came from hondas where you could buy some 40 dollar sleeve style coilovers (simple springs with adjustable sleeves that go over stock shocks) that would fit literally ALL honda civics (and integra too i think) from like 1988 all the way through to 2004

so what i''m wondering is, from the early to mid 90's did they really change the springs at all on protege's?

the reason i ask that is cause i can find some simple knock off brand coilovers for older school proteges but for my protege five the cheapest i can find are some ground controls that cost like 350 bucks, and all they are doing is adding adjustable sleeves to eibach springs (which i'm not a fan of)

so if i bought these, would they fit on my p5??

EDIT: After doing a little bit of research perhaps these would be a better fit seeing as our cars (P5s) are based on the 626

If you care about your car you won't buy those things. Hell, I'd rather cut factory springs then get those "coilovers" from God knows where. From what I read on another forum, all of these springs from these "coilover kits" are the exact same spring rate, therefore you might get a horrible mismatch of spring rates and either be way too stiff or way too soft.

i've had them before and am well aware of how they might turn out considering you get what you pay for, but it'll get the job done and i'd much rather have intact springs than cut anything because a buddy of mine once bought a sentra SE-R and the previous owner had cut the springs and one day the spring somehow popped out of place and his car just dumped to the ground in the back right side and he had to have it towed to get it fixed so i'll pretty much never cut my springs

all i need to know is will they fit?

was thinking about it actually...i had good luck with the sedan headlights and fabbing them into my p5 i just didn't want to push my luck (poke) and end up having to get an alignment all for nothing

i ask you because your supposed to be the mazda experts, HENCE, i ask - isn't that afterall the point of a forum??

and still, no one has been able answer my question, and to be completely honest this forum hasn't been all that useful, i've pretty much had to figure out most of this crap myself with these cars, i know they weren't mass produced like other vehicles but give me a break, they have been out for like 10 years.

so again, i ask, for someone who can actually answer my question, WILL EITHER OF THOSE FIT ON A 2002 PROTEGE 5?

If you find the forum that useless, perhaps you are asking the wrong questions. Hell- the link to the service manual alone is worth the price of membership.

Since most people on here (a generalization) are on here because they value their P5, like to modify it, and generally love the way it handles- you're gonna be hard pressed to get anyone with experience to comment on a bad, ebay-quality, patch job, suspension bolt on. Now if you were asking about a much more mainstream (and almost certainly higher quality) suspension setup- you'd get more responses.

Perhaps a better question than one about an unknown and undocumented component would be something like: "Will a strut from an '02 626 fit the '02 P5?"

The answer to that question implicitly answers your question- but has no dependencies on a bad ebay product. This forum is as useful as you make it...

i think it will be a crap-shoot as to whether 626 parts will fit a pro5. none of the strut assembly parts carry the same part numbers.

i asy, if you REALLY want to try them out, do it. if they dont fit, sell 'em back up on ebay for $10 less than you bought them for. then, you are only out $10 for trying.
