Will I rub?

i could be off on the MS3 wheel specs... I've seen 52.5 as well... I've also seen 55. If its 52.5, thats the first "X.5" offset I've ever seen, so I went with the 55 spec. wheel width as far as this dicussion goes is basically irrelivant, as the tire ends up in the same place +/- 1 to 2mm due to stretch... but I could be off there as well. 18" wheels aren't my specialty. lol

From what I could find it looks like 7" is correct and IIRC the offset of the first gen Mazda3 17's was 52.5 too. Very strange number indeed.

I'll take a look for the offset in the casting on my mz3's when I put the spacers in, to fix the offset. haha.

I sent a PM to the guy to confirm the offset and width. I'll let you guys know when I hear back from him.

that means they are 2.5 mm further out than the MSP stock setup... essentially, you have a TINY bit more clearance than I reported. my deepest apologies.

with the right tire those will work.. hell i had a b**** of a time getting mine to fit. but im running 17x7 with a 40 mm offset and 214 45 tires.. i had to beat the s*** out of the fenders and they have like 1 mm tops of clearance lol, but my 40 offset makes my rims stick way farther out

bought my car with 40 offset on it... and my fender has a nice wrinkle in it... no thanks.

So does that extra few mm give me the clearance to be safe for now? I think the issue is the perch, not the fender (unless I bought a spacer).

you trade space on one for space on the other. lower offset (more spacer) will bring you closer to the fender, but give you more clearance on the perch.

ive got about a 1/2 more room above my tire till hitting the perch on the 17 with 45. but ya 40 offset was a b**** to get to work with the bigger tires..hell even with the 205 40s i had to roll fender

I'm running 18x7.5 with 225/40/18 on stock suspension
Well damn....the width is 7"....I could have sworn it was 7.5". Are you sure the offset is 55 Carl....I have seen others posting 52.5?

And costcommando....more info on what you are running and the specs. I am curious.

Anyone know how 17x8 +45 wheels would fit? 235/45/17 tires.

okay. your tires will stick out past the fenders like a inch....

i have 17x7 with 40 offset and 215. 45 tires. they are the ABSOLUTE flushest you can get without rubbing (and thats with the max amount of fender rolled)

now your adding another inch to the rim, and a WAY bigger tire

and were talking about rubbing fender here not perch
