Hey guys,

I do not want to pay the dealer $7-800 as they have told me to add the receiver to get factory sirius in my CX-9. Will these work so I can just use the buttin on my factory radio?

you didn't say what CX9 and options you have.

PLEASE be specific about your car if you want an answer

The Pioneer units only work with Pioneer head units

The Sirius doesn't appear to have a Mazda interface available.

I have the cx-9 sport. with just the base radio. The dealer told me I need the receiver that connects to my factory unit. I have thought about the portable but dont really like having it stuck to my windscreen.

well that will pretty much be your only option, to go portable. UNLESS you go aftermarket and put in whatever want.

If you don't need DVD or navigation it's pretty easy and cheap to go with something like this and add the Sirius tuner, all for under $400. The color is even switchable to match the CX9 orange.

Crutchfield is nice because they include the installation kit to fit the CX9 Dash.

I purchased my Mazda Sirius receiver off ebay ($100) and installed myself. To do it right you need to remove a bunch of stuff (including the 3rd row seat), but overall not rocket science. Took about 3 hours total.
