Will a 2010 2.3 Mazda 5 Engine work in a 2006 Mazda 5?

I have 2.3 engine out of Mazda 5 and need to know what parts on the 2010 block that should be replaced with off the old engine.

Some guys say it is not possible. Pls let me know.

If it is a 2.3 then yes, simple swap. I thought that by 2010, it had become a 2.5 though....

2012 was the first year for the mazda5 with a 2.5 engine

I am a noob, I would imagine the ECM module would need to be replace. 2008 to 2010 are basically identical.

Please update how everything went, I would imagine at one point, I may need this to be done, I love the 5 and would probably keep it for a while as long as it works.

Does anyone know if the OEM exhaust system (cat-back) from a 2012+ Mazda5 is a direct fit on a 2008-2010 Mazda5?

Not a simple swap. Pullys are different sizes, crank sensors different positions, need to swap out exhaust manifold, rocker cover has to swap out.
